Ok, this is going to be a weird thread for me. :hyper2: All my friends and peers at my daughter's school know I'm a Disney nut, after all my license plate says "DIZNEY". We have been 10 times and are planning our 11th stay. When they are planning their visits they start to ask me questions. Well, I try to help and try to help them save money. I don't know if it is that they are too afraid to ask for things or just are the type of people that just take the first price they are told and run with it. I try to explain to them that I have done and always do research on prices, discounts and other options for things. I try to tell them about things that we have found that works and we very TRUTHFULLY tell them how much we spend on our vacations. It just seems that the second they hear "On the Monorail" or "The Grand Floridian" or "The Polynesian", they just instantly act like I am crazy. They try to tell me that I didn't stay there or that I didn't pay that price. Does anyone else run into this? I did however have a friend that went mid July this year and I printed out all of my tips, ideas and suggestions and talked to her about it before she lefts. Well, when she came back she told me that everything was perfect and my information was dead on. That made me feel good, so it didn't go wasted.

How about you?

I have friends ask me also. We have been about 10 times and nobody can believe what I pay for our trips :cool1: One frieed of mine went a couple of years ago and saved over $1500 by doing what I said. She said it was the best trip she had ever taken. I now also have them asking me about Vegas :cool1: What 2 better things to be addicted to WDW and Vegas :confused3

Well...I gave great information to three different sets of friends in the past and only one of them followed my suggestions.

One family stayed OFF-SITE because on-site was "too expensive". They rented a car and ate off Disney property to "save money". They came back saying that the family didn't have a good time. (Nah, you think?! You were driving most of the time.)

Another family got an all-inclusive package at the Grand Floridian and came back complaining about how expensive the trip was. (Duh!!!)

The last family, took all of my advice, booked a room only package at the POFQ with a AAA discount, got their discounted tickets, used a towncar to get to/from the hotel and Disney transportation the rest of the time. I gave them websites to look at to plan their days and meals and came back saying that they had the time of their lives and will be going back.

I gave everyone the same information, but I think that most people consider what we all do to save money is too much trouble. I try not to take it personally and no longer offer advise unless I am directly asked.
