At the end of August I am turning 17! I know it seems pretty far off but...I love planning things :hyper:

So, I've decided I want to have a Disney themed party with about five or six of my friends. I know they wouldn't wear an actual costume, but I think I can convince them to Disney Bound :goodvibes I need help thinking of Disney themed stuff for the party that would be fun for teenagers. I did ask in the Teen Disney section, but it's not very active and I haven't gotten any responses yet, so I thought I'd ask here. I figure parents have had plenty of experience planning Disney parties before!

As for what to do, so far I have Disney Pictionary, Disney trivia, and some Disney movies. Any other ideas?

I was thinking in the late afternoon we would have a "Very Merry Unbirthday" tea party. What foods would be good for that? And then I have no ideas on what to make for dinner.

Any ideas for decorations? I'll probably do streamers and balloons, but I'm open to anything!

Congrats on your upcoming bday! Sounds like a lot of fun. Do you have Wii or Kinect? There is a Disney Dance Party game that could be fun. There are also Disney-themed games like Haunted Mansion Life, Tower of Terror Clue and Disney Monopoly. The latter two were on sale online at disneystore.com and betting you can get the HM Life by calling Disney merchandise. There is Disney Scene It and Disney Apples to Apples.

Do you have legos or other kinds of building blocks? What about a Phineas & Ferb Building contest? Or a Disney photo scavenger hunt and put Disney stuff around your house or outside or have them take pictures like different characters? Honestly, you don't HAVE to do too much. Just playing some fun Disney music and hanging out can be fun too.

For the decorations, why not cut out big Mickey hands a la Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and have those "holding" the streamers and such? You can cut out two and put them together with some space apart so it looks more 3D.

For food, I'd hone in on your favorite movies and look at the Disney family movie theme nights for ideas on themed food. Like you could offer spaghetti and meatballs for Lady and the Tramp. Pizza for Pizza Planet from Toy Story.

I'm sorry I don't have any great ideas but have you checked out pinterest? I have seen a ton of pins on there for Disney themed party decorations and foods. It might be a good place to start!

Try your local party store. The party city near us has Disney scene setters. You could just purchase the character cut outs and put them up. If you are doing a mad hatters tea party you could have small sandwiches, they sell that kind of bread in most grocery stores. What about iced tea in the tea pots instead of hot tea and you could make a topsy turvy cake! Definitely check Pintrist, thats my go to site for anything party. Have a great time!

Sort of depends on how you want your party to be. Do you want it to be across the board Disney stuff and get as many films in as possible or narrow it down to a few of your favorites?

Maybe try some music in the background. I know whenever I hear any of the pieces from Fantasia, I think of the movie. You could make a mix CD for background music.

I recently had to do a couple of games for college kids and the two games that were most popular was an "actual size" version of angry birds using a bean bag and decorated empty boxes and then a bow and arrow game that you could brand as being from Brave (I did Hunger Games for this one). I got a bow and suction cup arrow set from the Dollar Tree and it was really popular and fun to shoot, even for the older crowd. The target was a hoola hoop.

Kinda skimmed the posts and PP gave good ideas for decorating.

IF you are going to do the tea party than you might want to skip the dinner.

For the tea party, you can serve a variety of sandwiches cut hidden Mickey style of course. You can have cupcakes, pizza rolls, pin wheels(rolled wraps filled with your fav sandwich stuff and cut). Cause the Mad Hatter was alittle unconvential ;) I would serve soda or juice out of a tea pot.

Here is a fabulous thread that I have often got great ideas from If you work your way back a lot of posters have photos The first page of the thread gives post numbers in the thread:

For Example: Interested in ideas for Lady and the Tramp then under it will be the post numbers in the thread about Lady and the Tramp (menu, decorating, etc)

Its alot of fun and let me tell you it is a pleasure to "meet" a Disney Loving teen :wave2:
