Disney testing centralized FASTPASS

There better be a lot of those FP machines at the centralized location..or that place is gonna be a madhouse! lol

But I think it would work...I would be a time saver if you wanted to get a FP for a ride, then go to the other side of the park to do a different ride.

Unless Disney does something stupid like put one FP machine for each ride, I think it's a pretty good idea. No running all over the park for a FP.

I've read you can still get fastpasses at their original locations, they've just changed the Tough to Be a Bug fastpass machines to other ones.

I think it's good if your plans were to go to Expederest to get fastpasses, then head to Kilomanjaro Safari to ride, which takes some time away from getting on rides, but it can make more people lazy, and will congest the areas in popular times. You could barely get round to TSM when I went, because everyone filled up all the space for getting a fastpass. Same happens at Soarin'. Even worse there, because all the lines join into one, so you don't know who's going where.

Don't forget they're testing Magic Passes in HKDL. You pay for Fastpasses, which don't have an allocated time, so you can get in the Fastpass line when you want.

There's also talks of making people pay for Fastpasses in WDW, where you get a certain amount of Fastpasses every day, depending on the hotel you stay in, or the park ticket you buy (heard rumours for both) then pay for more when in the park.

Been trying to follow it on the News & Rumours board.

Well I think centralized Fastpasses would work if they still kept The Fastpass machine over at that attraction. Because sometimes my family and I like to go get the FP over there, and then just ride it right there. Plus what if people are all the way in the back of the park, they have to go all the way in the front to get a FP, and that would suck. So I think BOTH would definatly work.

ohmigosh, PAYING? I don't like that. Disney already costs sooo much. Plus, that was the one thing EVERYONE loves about Disney's FASTPASS, they're free.

I kinda like the idea of paying. I mean, it's really just another expense, but I think less people would do it and the FP lines would be even shorter :thumbsup2

so long as they keep the old ones this is a great idea

I really like this idea, and hopefully they will keep ones at the attraction. :)

Random information on the testing. They've changed the Tough to be a Bug Fastpass machines to give DInosaur, Expederest, and Kilomanjaro Safari Fastpasses. There are 2 machines for each Fastpass (so 6 in total). That's why they still have Fastpass machines working at their original locations, as I don't think 2 for each ride will work out, especially during busy times of the year.

About paying for Fastpasses, I believe right now, there are plans for having 3 Fastpasses a day on the park tickets (which might become wristbands O_o) and there's also a special one which has more Fastpasses, plus holds all Photopass photos, ride scores, interact with interactive queues (think Soarin'), and stores information on the person so characters can know the name of kids when meeting them, and ask how they're doing with things. I've also read that you could get Fastpasses depending on the hotel you stay in as well, like 3 Fastpasses when in a Value hotel, 5 in a Moderate, 7 in a Delux, etc. Remember these are all rumours, so might not happen (I hope not. I like the current way of getting Fastpasses)

While we're talking about this, let's talk about the rumoured Fantasyland renovation! I think it looks awesome from the blueprints. I don't care if they do away with Toontown, as there's nothing really to do there, plus it was orignally only supposed to be open for a year or two. People say that boys won't like anything, but I think it's quite awesome. I more like the scenery then the rides though (mainly M&G with Princesses). Gardens, fountains, rivers, etc. If done right, it could be spectacular. But there's a huge chance that the plans will change a lot before happening (if they were real, which I think they were).

Yeah, i'm blabbering now.

Busch Gardens uses the "quick que" thing

but you have to pay for it

if disney starts charging for fast pass, I think the program will be compleatly lost

So if they got rid of all the FP at the attractions, you'd have to walk to the one area just to get them? That's stupid. (if that's the case)

i think this is a great idea. but i think making people pay for normal fast passes is stupid. it will make the system fall under. people are payign SO much to already be there, why take away one of the "free" things?

i do think though, maybe a "super" fast pass, sortof like the yoamd ones, people would pay for that. but not pay for the little paper ones.

They should do something like Universal Studios/Hard Rock Hotel does About 5-6 years ago my family stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel and our "fastpass" was just our hotel key card...Im sure the hotel price went up because of that, but then we didnt have to wait in line to get the "fastpass" when we got the park...just hit each ride and move to the next

Maybe the more popular hotels and disney could find some type of card or something to kinda replicate the hard rock/universal studios thing

I think it's a wonderful idea, so you dont have to walk all the way over to one ride, get a fastpass then walk to the other side of the park to wait in line for a different ride. I think they should just keep it in AK, I dont think they should really bring it to MK or EPCOT. I think their would be too long of lines and you would have to wait for an hour just to get your fastpass... I think they should also maybe keep one or two by the ride, just incase, I mean what if you wanted to stay over on that side of the park, get a FP by the ride then ride rides that are close by, you wouldnt want to walk over to the main place to get a FP then walk all the way back where you were already...

What if they converted every Fastpass machine to give Fastpasses for every ride? You just put in your ticket, press a button, and you get a Fastpass for the ride you chose. I think that would be a good idea.

So your saying that someone who stays at the Contemporary should get a better fastpass than someone who stays at All Star Movies?

I think it'll be a good idea, IF they keep the fastpasses at the rides also. If Disney makes people pay for fastpasses, that will be a one very unfortunate day. :(

Um, its the main idea that i was talking about and what you just highlighted isnt the main point...
