We'll get to Disney Studios about 2:00 on our first day (May 29)and we have a PS at Sci fi - 5:15. What would you do? These are a couple of options:

Go to the park right after we check-in. Try to get into less crowded or faster loading attractions.Suggestions please.

Or should we just go to the park in time for our PS and then just stay for EMH.

Since our vacation starts on Memorial Day weekend,I'm trying to manage our time effectively. Thanks!

Even though its going to be really crowded due to Memorial Day, I would still get to MGM as soon as you can. Just be prepard for long lines on ToT and RnRC. I would just spend the time before dinner walking around, hitting the shops, looking for characters and getting into some shows if the wait isnt too bad. Are you planning on Fantasmic that night? If you plan on heading back to MGM another day ( like during the week when most of the MDay weekend crowds should be gone) Then I would say skip fantasmic that first night and try to do the bigger attractions then... and then say for EMH night. We never want to waste time at our room/resort when we first get there! We dont even unpack.. just head to a park. Oh, and if you skip the parade, that might shorten the lines temporarily too!!

I'd go as soon as you can, take in what you can before your PS's, then ride some more, see Fantasmic! and stay for EMH. You should be able to see a fair amount of the park with that theory.

Since it's going to be crowded memorial day weekend, get there right at 2 like you planned. There's a board that's located in between the main entrance and the sorcerer's hat that posts wait times for all the rides so you can see what the wait times are. My guess is that Star Tours and Muppet Vision 3D won't be that crowded so those are probably good to be done then. I'd save Rockin' Rollercoaster and TOT for EMH - it really cuts down on the wait times. Fantasmic is always fun and is a must see (but it also provides a good time to go on rides if you are going to be at MGM two nights).

Don't forget to take a walk through the Walt Disney exhibit over by The Little Mermaid. It's a nice air-conditioned way to spend some spare time. You don't have to go into the theater and see the film in the end if you don't have time - though I'd recommend checking it out at some point on your trip.

If you want to do a ride, I'd say Star Tours - it rarely has waits these days.

N.E.D.
