Disney Strollers vs. Double Jogger?

We have 3 kids: 7 months, 2.5 years and 4.5 years old.

We are trying to determine the best strategy for strollers at WDW. Should we rent or bring our own? We have a great double jogger (the kind with inflatable bicycle wheels) - the question is - can you gate check a double jogger at the airport? And - are the Disney strollers comfortable enough for kids to nap?

Any previous experience with a double jogger at WDW would be appreciated...

But at one time they would not allow double joggers with the large stationary front wheel into the parks. They only seemed to enforce it when the park was really crowded and then would give you a rental for free while making you leave yours parked at the rental lot while you were in the park. This happened to some friends of ours last year and the year before. They have bought a new one with swivel wheels for this year.

Does it fold up? I know a lot of joggers don't fold. If that's the case, then I wouldn't consider it. Also, you do have the wheel to think about.

For a 7 month old, you'll need to have a stroller from home. The rentals are hard, molded plastic, and they don't recline. If you don't have a stroller that you really love, I'd consider renting from one of the off-site companies for the whole length of your stay. I know that you don't really want to accumulate extra double strollers, since they cost a fortune and take up so much space. You'll still need something for the airport, though, since 7 month olds don't walk. An umbrella stroller should be okay for that part, and it won't take up much space in the room once you get there.

If it's going to more than 2 adults, I'd probably just take 2 singles.

Although we appreciate your interest, please know that double "joggers" are not permitted in the
theme parks.

Strollers may be rented in each of our four theme parks (at the designated stroller/wheelchair
rental location) for $8 per day, plus a $1 refundable deposit. Double strollers are available at
the Magic Kingdom. Park, Epcot., Disney-MGM Studios and at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Theme Park for
$15 per day plus a $1 refundable deposit. All of our strollers feature canopies (sun shades), as
well as a small basket for the storage of personal items. However, they do not recline. Please note
that stroller reservations are not accepted. Rental strollers are available on a first-come,
first-served basis only. Should you wish to visit more than one park in a given day, simply retain
your stroller receipt and present it at the second park to obtain another stroller at no additional
cost. Your $1 deposit will be returned when turning-in your stroller at the last park visited.

Rental strollers are available at the Magci Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios, Disney's Animal
Kingdom, and Transportation and Ticket Center.

Since strollers are not permitted in attraction areas, parking space is provided for your

For safety reasons, we do not allow strollers or carriages inside our attractions, enclosed queue
areas, or indoor restaurants. Since guests in a crowd do not easily see these vehicles, they can be
very hazardous. In addition, many of our enclosed areas are simply not large enough to accommodate
them. For these reasons, specific areas outside our buildings have been designated for stroller
parking. These policies do not apply to wheelchairs, since many of these are utilized by
mobility-impaired guests. We hope you understand.
