Disney store or outlet

I will be in the area of both a Disney Store and a Disney Outlet store soon. I only have time to go to one of them, and the outlet is about 45 minutes further. We live in a state where there are NO disney stores :( and the closest one is 3+ hours away.

I am hoping to buy things for the surprise box that I will surprise the kids with at Christmas for this trip. Thinking Tshirts, PJs, etc. I have 4 kids, ranging from adult medium to a size 6.

I am not sure which one to go to. Cost is of course a factor, but so is finding what I need. I think I remember going to an outlet before and not being that impressed with prices or selection. But that was a LONG time ago.

So, should I go to the store or the outlet????

Personally, I dont find the outlets the best because they dont always have what youre looking for! The disney store is probably a better option. I can usually find a sale or ways to keep the cost down!

We go to both frequently. I've always found good things at the outlets, especially if you aren't looking for one thing in particular. They have a lot of the same things as the regular store! Sometimes the problem with the Disney store is that they run out of popular sizes of the newest, most popular item. If your kids aren't with you, then that might not be a problem! Happy shopping!

I bought t shirts, toys and pjs there . On a first trip to Disney we stopped at the outlet at St Augistine, what a disappointment, everything was dated and from two to three seasons ago, limited sizes for both children and adults.

On the way to Windsor HIlls outside o Disney we stopped at CVS. Oh my goodness they had the exact same tshirts and clothes that I bought at the store for 3 to 5 dollars cheaper per item. I checked the labels and the clothes were made under licensed for Disney by the exact same Chinese sweatshop. I could tell by the RN number on the tag. I thought wow did I get ripped at the Diseny store.

Then later on in the week we went to Walmart where I saw the same merchandise again that was at the Disney store and CVS for half the price.

Then last year on our drive I decided to try the outlet in St Augustine again, and again I realized I just wasted 30 minutes of my life.

I find most of the toys you buy at the Disney Store are available at the mass merchandisers.

If you're a fan of DL the outlets I've been to usually have adult DL clothing at maybe 75% off

Which outlet or I guess what area will you be in, the two outlets here (although one closed) had the same items as the disney store plus outlet type things, from WDW and DL. I am in Georgia, so not near Disney where they are true outlets.

I am spoiled because I have a Disney Outlet store about 10 minutes from home, plus a regular Disney store about 35 minutes away.

Our Outlet carries a lot of really inexpensive clearance, BUT - the majority of clothing clearance is from Disneyland, not Disney World. Also, the really good clearance clothing is usually very large sizes, or very small sizes. Me and my family are "in between" - mediums in both adults and kids are hard to find there.

Everything else (cups, plates, toys, etc) - I buy at the Outlet store. So, it really depends on what you are looking for. Since I can go there regularly because it's so close, I hardly ever pay more than 1.99 for most items there. They still get me for a good amount, though, because at those prices, I of course get one of everything LOL.

Also, I've found a lot of Disney shirts for everyone in the family at Walmart for $5-$10, which is comparable to prices for clearance shirts at the Disney stores and outlets.

Hope this helps :)

If it were me, I'd hit the outlet and then whatever I didn't find there, I'd buy online.

Outlets, I think, can be hit or miss. BUT - they usually have a lot of the same stuff as the regular disney store, too (at least the ones I've been to).

A few years ago I found an awesome Dland sweatshirt for $3.99 (my favorite cozy sweatshirt). I was at another one a few weeks ago and they didn't have anything under $20.

I think it's the luck of the draw in terms of merchandise and the time of the year and when markdowns are taken, etc.
