Disney Store in Newmarket

So I was at Upper Canada Mall yesterday and the Disney Store was having their "soft" opening for the upcoming grand opening this saturday.

I was beyond thrilled when I saw those store doors opened!!!

Upon entering the store I was shocked at how small the actual store was.
Don't get me wrong it is beautifully decorated and some of the "disney" touches are really nice. But square footage the store is small.
They have lots of children's stuff. More princess gear than any little girl could dream of.

Pickings were almost non existant in for adult merchandise.
A few t-shirts and mugs and that was all.

Then at check out I handed the cast member my D23 membership to have the manager tell me that they do not honor the D23 10% discount at the Canadian locations.

I left the store with all my built up excitement totally deflated.

To sum it up the store did not meet my expectations and how can they not honor a "perk" for a membership that is available worldwide.
There was no "magic" in my visit

I'm not a D23 member, so I can't comment on that. But, I live in Vaughan and the Disney Store here isn't very good either.

While the choices in clothing for adults could be better, the atmosphere in the store can't be beat. It's the closest thing we can get without heading on an actual Disney vacation.

I do however like the sale racks they have for women's clothing. Hard to find sizes that aren't XL or XS, but I make do.

Disney stores in the area, in my opinion have really taken a nose-dive.

At least I can get PJ's and slippers, notepads and other trinkets at the one in Vaughan Mills

Went to the store in Vaughan Mills today. "Big Sale" going on. In terms of adult merchandise, I noticed the following:

-Beach Towels 9.99, although they aren't the greatest quality, the designs are fantastic.

-There was a section of adult T-shirts for 6.99 all sizes were available, mens and womens.

-Tote bags 10.99, various designs.
