Does anyone know when it usually happens? I need to spend more $$$ than I would even admit to, lol...for our trip in a month. I know that I have gotten coupons on the mail, as well as seen sales within the stores. Just wondering if I should hold out a little bit and hope that something happens, or just bite the bullet and buy them.

I am wondering the same thing. I need two Tangled costumes and hate to order them if the sale is going to be soon.

As I recall I think they start going on sale around the 2nd week in October. It usually starts off around 15% off and then goes to 20%.

We used to always buy our costumes ONLY from the Disney store. This year they are just way over priced. I have 3 kids and we are going to MNSSHP next month, and they are being tinker bell, captain hook and peter pan. I couldn't wait around for a sale, and who knows if their sizes will still be there? If I ordered them online, it would have cost us over $200, and that's with free shipping. This year I tried party city, and it was under $100. The costumes are relatively o.k.. Sometimes the Disney Stores' quality isn't that great either! But at least I paid less than half price.

Last October, I got my DD a Tiana and Ariel costume, plus we got a free Tiana tiara, for $56 I think. It was a pretty good sale online. I didn't like spending that much on costumes, but she wore both around Halloween, wore Tiana in Disney, and has worn them a lot throughout the year. Nothing like a princess walking through the grocery store. Plus, they still fit for this Halloween!

I think the sale online was better than the store; I had bought one in the store, but ended up returning it.

The only thing to remember is that when they have the sale, they don't always have all the sizes available for the most popular costumes... so if you have a must have costume it might not be a good idea to wait for the sale.

Last year I bought the girls costume from the DS on October 9 and shipped it to Disney directly as I wouldn't have the time to receive them before leaving and I think it was the first or second day or the sale.

I just bought my kid's costumes yesterday b/c I figured they know what they want and I'm not going to risk not being able to find them. I got Woody for DS and Vidia (from Target) for DD.

what's 'Vidia'? Just curious...
