Thanks. I know, I was so happy about the meal! I got an email back from Virgin today too...although I'm no longer flying with them now LOL. THanks for trying. For anyone who was wondering the about the baggage, this is what they said:

"The extra baggage charges are quoted each way. As you aware that in addition to the checked baggage allowance, you can pay to check in up to 10 extra bags per person, weighing up to a maximum of 23kg each. Since you wish to carry two addition bag therefore, your 4th bag will be charge GBP40 and your 5th bag will be charged GBP90."
 
Did they answer your question about whether you could pre-book extra bags for the return when you check in on the outbound? I take it they are swamped at the moment.

By the way, I saw you have the US Airlines flight, but only after I had posted on here.

Nope, don't think so...they just told me I could purchase at check-in, Didn't say for which way - "You can purchased online at time of completing online check in or at the airport.". But to be honest I didn't expect to get a reply at all at the moment.

Yep, changed to US Airways cause Virgin couldn't get us there for couple weeks. Hoping it's the right decision. Flown US before and they were good. Bit longer flight cause not direct but... I'll keep you up to date, thanks for all the support over the last few days :hug:

they are NOT at 100% capacity...they could have offered a apecial room discount as well...

really, not very nice people making the decisions...
i'm sorry....business or no business....they would still make money on the rooms even with a special discount on them...

They are a business, responsible to shareholders and banks and it is still Spring Break for a lot of American States, so the throughput of guests does not depend on the input from Europe.

They have reduced food prices - which people should be able to claim back anyhow if they have flown with a European airline, (as with room costs) . They have also said they will give a free entrance to the parks - a matter of goodwill and good advertising I know..... but they have done something - the room costs should be covered for most.
