Disney Springs to Epcot Int Gateway

Hi, we are planning on being dropped at Disney Springs before Epcot opens during our trip in August. What would be the best way to then get to the International Gateway entrance from there?

The Busses drop off guests at Disney Springs but Do Not pick up or return guests from Disney Springs until later in the morn.
Are you trying to go to Epcot later after Disney Springs Or early for their Open ?

I believe we will be dropped around 8am and Epcot will open around 10am. Maybe we will have to go elsewhere before Epcot

Epcot usually opens at 9 not 10. I imagine it will be the same in August when it is busy or if anything maybe earlier but not likely 10 although I could be wrong about that.

You could Uber to the beach club or boardwalk and walk from there since the busses don't go till later.

If you can get dropped off at the beach club or boardwalk instead I would do that. You would have to kill some time but it is probably easier and more efficient.

Disney resorts have gotten more strict about drop offs without a reservation or ADR. You might be allowed to be dropped at the Swan or Dolphin.

Ok thank you. Are you able to walk from the Epcot main entrance to Int Gateway entrance? Does it take long? I've never been to that entrance before

The only way to get to the International Gateway from the Epcot main entrance is to walk through Epcot, which requires a park reservation. If you want to go to the International Gateway without walking through Epcot then you need to go a resort. Boardwalk, Beach Club, Yacht Club and Swan/Dolphin will be a short walk to the International Gateway. Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach and Riveria will require a ride on the Skyliner to get to the International Gateway. You could also walk, take a boat, or the Skyliner from Hollywood Studios to the International Gateway.

Agreed. Everglazed and Starbucks open at 9am, possibly a few other food places. Busses won’t even be running to DS until closer to opening, so you’d be standing around waiting for a bus to take you back to an Epcot resort for quite a while if you were dropped off with the hopes of getting to Epcot at opening time of 9am.

Best way? Uber. Cheapest best way? Walk to Saratoga Springs take bus to Hollywood Studios, walk or take Friendship Boat to International Gateway.

Epcot opens at 9. Disney Springs doesn’t open til 10. The first buses don’t get to the resorts to pick up guests going to Springs til at least 9:30. The Disney Springs buses drop off in a central location, not at the resort pick up area. So you don’t just get on a bus that drops off BW or BC guests. You could be waiting a half hour or more for a bus back to an Epcot resort. Even when you get on a bus, they have a schedule & often sit waiting for 10 minutes or so before they leave. I would guess the earliest you would get back to a resort will be 10:30. And that’s optimistic. Then you’ll need at least 10 minutes to get to the IG & time to get thru security & the admission scanners.

Can I ask why you need to get to that entrance? If you’re spending the day at Epcot, it seems it would be much less hassle to get dropped off at the main entrance & just enter that way. The IG is convenient for guests staying near there, but not necessarily for anyone else. By the time you go thru all the other steps to get to IG, you could just as easily enter at the maingate at normal opening.

I am not clear if you are trying to get to a specific restaurant for a meal or just trying to get to Epcot to spend the day. I would ask the person dropping you off to go the main Epcot entrance if not related to a meal reservation. Walking from IG to the front of Epcot is a LONG walk. As someone else mentioned you can't enter Epcot without having a park reservation and ticket.

Can you please clarify your plan? Is there a reason you are going up DS or, are you just trying to get to IG?

Also, I agree with others that Epcot will open much earlier than 10:00 in August.
