Disney Springs & Luggage - Departure Day

A bit of a transportation/logistical question:

We have a very late departure flight (10pm). Our plan is to spend the majority of the day at DS after checking out of VGF, but the wrinkle is we also have a reservation for Topolino's for an early dinner. So instead of going back to VGF for our luggage, then getting an Uber to Riviera, my thought would be to simply bus from VGF to DS, then from DS back to Riviera all while transporting our luggage with us (we pack relatively light, so it won't be horrible). Then heading directly to MCO from Riviera.

My question is is this even allowed? Can you transport full size luggage on Disney buses as well as inside DS? Can anyone think of a better logistical solution? Thanks!

Luggage is not permitted into Disney Springs or onboard Disney transportation of any kind. You will have to go back to the Grand to retrieve your luggage, and head to the airport from there.

Bummer.. In that case, it seems the best option is to bus back to VGF to get our luggage then Uber over to Riviera for dinner, then Uber again from there to MCO.

Riviera is closer to MCO, so I bet it's a cheaper Uber from there anyway. At least enough to make not having to lug luggage around all day worth it (even if it was an option).

Thanks.

I would attempt to see if bell services will hold your luggage during dinner as it would be extremely awkward and maybe not even allowed to take it into the dining room with you. IDK if they will hold luggage for someone not staying at their resort or not but it would be worth trying.

As stated by pp, unfortunately you cannot bring luggage into DS, the best course of action would be to take a WDW bus back to VGF and an Uber/Lyft/or Minnie Van to Riviera, then take an Uber/Lyft or Mears Connect from there to MCO after dinner.. Keep in mind that even with a 10pm flight, you should still arrive at MCO at least 2 hours before your flight, I would recommend leaving WDW property to MCO no later than 7:15pm just to be safe..

Making sure you can drop your luggage off at RIV is a key bit of info, I can't see why bell services wouldn't take it while you dine. Assuming this number, 407-828-7030, gets answered at Riviera I'd double check with them just to be sure and have peace of mind.

One thought would be to checkout of GF and get your luggage to RIV, then jump to DS for the day and them back to RIV - you'd have quicker rides between DS & RV.

That's a good suggestion as well. We have an 11:45 brunch ADR for Homecookin as well, so really it just comes down to before which ADR we will have more flexibility (brunch - to get to Riviera first) or Dinner (to get back to VGF then over to Riviera).

I got myself into this mess by booking two hard to get ADRs.. I can only blame myself!

I have read several posts recently from guests who were able to check luggage at a Disney resort they weren’t staying at. During your stay at VGF you might be able to confirm this by talking to Bell Services there or even by swinging by RIV on your DHS or Epcot day. If so, after checking out from VGF you could Uber with luggage to Riviera, check luggage, bus to DS, bus back to RIV for dinner, then retrieve luggage and Uber to MCO.

After your Topolino's reservation you could bus back to Magic Kingdom and then walk/boat to the Grand from there... and then uber to the airport. That's what I would do. The uber might be a couple dollard more from VGF, but you will also have to tip bell services at Riv so it would probably be the same cost.

Theoretically the same but it may require a larger tip at the Riviera to motivate bell services
