Disney Springs - Best way to get there?

Has anyone driven there recently? Is it better to take Disney transportation there with all the construction? We will be there in a little over two weeks, and will be renting a car while staying onsite. If anyone who has been there recently could share their experience, that would be helpful!

The construction isn't that bad. I would drive. Only benefit to taking the bus is it'll put you off more on the far end marketplace side. The roads are so nice now that all the road construction is gone and it's all open. And the parking garage is great.

My guts says there is going ot be a lot of interest from locals with all these new shops opening starting this week (a lot of construction walls are removed today) and the disney buses (or boats) might be best. Parking is where construction will not be finished and if locals go nuts for the new things, it's going to be rough to park.

What changed is where you parked.. if you drive your basically parking on the west side or across the street if disney casting is closed and they need the lot. If you take the bus your coming in on the east side with the market place. You no longer park near where you want to go.

May 15th will likely be crazy crowded when they open up the new section,I'm very curious to see all the new stores and restaurants in this section as this is an all new section that didn't exist.I can't wait for them to open that second garage so parking isn't just limited to the west side. The new bus stop looks huge hopefully that also makes it easier for buses to get in and out.

My feeling is, if you are at one of the resorts along the Sasagoula River, take the boat. Otherwise, drive. I have found the bus transportation to and from Disney Springs to be worse than that to the parks, so when ever the boats aren't an option, I simply drive down.

Driving is a breeze. Once the new parking deck is done I don't think there will be any issues with parking. There is still lots of roadwork to be completed but it's not as bad as it was impact wise.

New bus depot (central location) looks close to done, if it opens with the May 15th openings that will be a game changer.

A real big plus to taking the bus is if you want to have drinks while you are there. So many options for eats/drinks I see that becoming a huge draw.

Thank you everyone for your feedback! It certainly sounds like parking won't be that bad. We like the flexibility of driving and not relying on the bus schedule. Really looking forward to seeing all the new stuff since we haven't been there since 2014.

This is from last October, and with all the construction some of it may have changed, but it at least gives you an idea of the flow of the area when headed to Disney Springs:
