So, I was wondering if anyone has been to either of the spas? I want to surprise my FH with a couples massage on our honeymoon and maybe a few other treatments for the last day of our time in Orlando... opinions? I know they're all super-expensive, but I'm sure it's worth it. We got a massage a few months ago and LOVED it. Does anyone know about the facilities? Is GF spa a place that you'd go and spend the day relaxing at, or is it mainly a place to get your treatment and go? Ahhhhh I think it's going to love it :) :Pinkbounc :lovestruc

my husband & i went to the mandara spa at the swan the day after our wedding & it was just awesome. we had the couples massage treatment, it started with a private jacuzzi for the 2 of us with arometherapy & lit candles, then we moved to the room next store for our hour long massage side by side. it was so relaxing & romantic. we also relaxed in the main room (pictured below) & spent time in the sauna. i definetly recommend mandara for couples!

I had a healing hands massage at Saratoga Springs and it was great!!! I felt good for like 2 montsh afterwards. There if you get any treatment you can stay all day and use the fitness center, the hot tub, sauna, and steam room. It was very nice. *note this was not before my wedding, df just did it for my bday*

Great info for myself as well... I am thinking a spa package for DH to be after the wedding.... thanks :surfweb:

I'm trying to find a way to say this and not sound like a snob :) It's a lot more expensive for the same thing you can get if you have decent spa at home. For example, we live in a major metropolitan area, spas are everywhere (heck even the doctor's office across the street has a full on spa - www.novamedspa.com in sterling, va) so it might be the competition driving the prices, but for about $40/half hour and $80/hour you can get a massage. At GF I think they have a 1 hour minimum and it was something like $125 + gratuity and this was a year or 2 ago. The spas were very similar in setup and offerings.. GF was very nice, I enjoyed it.. it was just more $$ than I was used to paying for the same service.

So if you already have a place you go to at home, it might not be anything that special and just more expensive .. but if you've never been, don't have spas in your area, or just want to go because you want to go, it's probably worth it.

my 2 cents,

I've been to both Saratoga Springs and GF. Saratoga springs was better when it was the INstitute, but now GF is better:) If SS is more convenient, it is still phenomenal, just GF is better if both are inconvenient!
