Okay, I started this thread for a reason. It's for your opinion. As teens, we are all trying to make money (of course). Then all of those teen Disney fans would like to go buy a really cool souvinier. Parents, well, I'd need your opinion too. Do any of you teens and parents think that Disney souviniers are too expensive? :confused3

In my opinion, I think that maybe once and a while you can spend $8-$8.50 a pin. But that is only once and a while. If you spend that kind of money all the time, then after a while you'll think it's a waste! I think the most expensive for a REGULAR pin should be around maybe $5.00. That is just me opinion and I'd like to hear your opinion. PLease tell me what you think about some of the souvinier prices.

:wave2: Thanks!

I agree! I mean, i want to always buy something every year and its just so expensive. It seems like the prices go up everytime i go to disney. Yeah i was thinking about starting the pins but i looked at the prices and i was like "WOW!"

I am a pin collecter. I have about 13 pins and I spent about 35$ on them! And that was at half price!!!!! I get my souveniers outside of the parks like in st. augustine where the prices are about 45$ cheaper!THere was a black jacket with a small tink on the front,49$!!! I went outside the parks and it was 7$!!! I am wearing it now lol

I don't think they are that expensive. Yet again I don't buy pins and such. I stick to stuff like T-Shirts.

I am a t-shirt queen lol everytime i go to wdw i get a tshirt

I save my money up for that exact reason. Each trip I'll get 1, maybe 2 pins, but only ones that I really like (they should really lower the prices on those pins!) My parents always by me one shirt, then I will get one thing that I want. Usually a statue, stuffed animal, purse (I love those purses down there! They are soo cute!!), or something like that. Everything is expensive, so I always keep atleast $50 just for WDW.

I think that some of the stuff is overpriced, but for the most part it's pretty reasonably priced (but if you have an annual pass like I do, you get discounts all over the place).

There are 2 Disney outlets we always go to though. Character Warehouse and Character Premier, they're in an outlet complex on International Drive. I think they're run by Disney so the stuff that's in them is all stuff from the parks. I bought this bag last year for like $30 at the hotel and when we went to the outlet store they had the same bag for $15. I was so mad. So now we go there like the first day.

You have to understand that Disney, like most other businesses are here to make a profit. Once they have you on property, they know you will buy there products and services. While I think $4.50 is alot for a pretzel, I'm not going to drive off property to go buy one and come back. I feel for the kids that save up there money for a long time, and then go blow it all at Disney. Just face it, Disney is expensive and its not going to lower its prices, only raise them.

since people are willing to pay the price they keep the price the same.

ABSOLUTELY TOO EXPENSIVE......

However....COMPLETELY WORTH IT!

Disney souvineers are collectable often-limited-edition items...we still have the "Four Parks: One World" fan/spraybottle and I LOVE THAT THING WITH A PASSION! Idk why. I am also a pin collector. Apparently pin prices have gone up...they used to be only $6.50...apparently they're more now? That's a bummer...

I agree with you Princess Ash! They are expensive (Well, most) but well worth it!! Actually, when I went I went to Disneyland in June, I didn't even look at Prices  just threw everything of Stitch i loved into my basket and then I checked my money after lol.

One thing I do think though is Disney pins are so expensive, but I guess they're highly collectable so they're gonna be I guess.

agree with it being expensive but it's better to get something then nothing i guess

and i haven't bought any pins at WDW yet but i got some off ebay and they were very cheap cheapest i think was £0.99

I totally agree. Even a Press Penny is like $1.00! If only Disney lowered the prices on their merchandise just by one or two dollars it'd be great! :bounce:

Yeah, I do think that some of the prices are a little bit much, but, Disney knows that you are gonaa bring tons of $$ for souveniers, so it takes advantage. It charges $$ and hey, I bring about $$10 a day. So, in July, we're staying for 13 days  , so i'm bringing around $$130. It seems like a lot, but in the end, you come home to pockets full of souveniers and change (coins). If you go on a vacation, especially to Disney, expect to pay a lot!!! $$$$$ :hourglass

Isn't that the truth. You'll always see people with bags of souvenirs and I always wonder how much money they spend...not that I should be talking, I tend to go crazy in WDW when it comes to souvenirs. The first thing I do when I get to the hotel is hit the gift shop, and I always want to go in the stores at the parks. Some of the stuff might be a little pricey, but generally it's not too bad. I know my dad told me once to just get what I want because then you get home and you'll end up wishing you had gotten it. That has definitely happened a couple of times...
