Hi

I am a fan of Disney Snowglobes (Snowdomes??) and have some I bought here in the UK.

Does anyone know if theres a better selection in Florida? Is it worth saving my cash until I get there ?

Thanks

There are an amazing variety of snow globes/domes in WDW! I always spend ages looking at them but I always worry that if I bought one, would I get it home in one piece?!! They have such intricate settings and also are very heavy.
I particularly remember a shop along Sunset Boulevard in MGM Studios selling a great variety of these and in Disney Village Marketplace.

Thanks Shirley

There are 6 of us going so maybe I could persuade some one to bring one......or two home for me.

I have seen some on e-bay that I'd love but am worried that they make get damaged in the post. However i could bring one home in my handluggage.

I'm going to wait and buy one...or two in WDW.

Cant wait.....Thanks

Hi

I bought a big snow globe on my last trip - I brought it home in my hand luggage. The box is quite large, so I had to buy a bag specially to put it in. I got it half price - $40 instead of $80, from the WDW shop in Belz. Next time I'm getting a villains one!!

We have brought a globe home with us the last four times and have always packed them in our case. They are very well protected with lots of packing and so far none of them have been damaged - maybe we have just been lucky!

I was told in a uk disney store that the snow globes in usa are not sold here in the uk. So thats why you never see the parade ones over here. I have bought 2 in wdw (so far) ;) a mickey sorcerors apprentice and the Pinochio one from the parade.:D
I have brought them back both times through hand luggage.. no breakages so far.. ;)

We brought the little mermaid snowglobe back the last time in our case, they are packed pretty good in the boxes, but DH wanted a bigger one so i asked the sales assistant if he could show me the size of the boxes that they come in so that it would fit in the case and i could wrap a towel round it, and it was fine when we got home,we paid about £20 less across there for it and that was in the Disney store, but DH has been web surfing again and has spied the new nemo snowglobe it in the shape of the fish tank in the film so i think that will be coming back with us. We were told in a Disney store once that they make so many of each design then they break the mould for it, so if you really like it buy it.

On our past trip to WDW, we have brought up to SIX snowglobes back with us. Always in carry-on luggage though

All have arrived home in perfect condition because the packaging is so sturdy and protective. So good in fact, that if you have kids with backpacks, you can put one in each of the bags, and they still arrive home in one piece.:) :)

Thanks Carene

There are 6 of us going so , lets see how many I can bring home...........

I've got 3 large ones already but I could always alternate them.........

Cant wait :Pinkbounc :bounce: :jester: :D

we brought 2 back last year, hubby and I had them as hand luggage...wouldn't let them out of my sight for a minute!!!! we got Cinderella's castle which lights up beautiful, this was a thank you gift from my in laws for taking them on holiday (much appreciated I can tell you) and we also splurged on a christmas one with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and crew dressing a christmas tree and a train full of gifts going round the outside... sounds twee but is beautifully made.

Wonder what I'll get this year... think a little trip to Belz to check out if they've got any (didn't have any when I was there last year)

Val, I saw the Christmas globe in the Christmas shop in MGM - it is lovely!

Now you've tempted me to bring one (or two!!!) home next visit  !

Hi Highland Lass

We have got :

Peter pan - pirate ship
Princesses - Cinderella's Castle
2 Cinderella - One as Pumpkin Coach, one with fairy godmother
2 Snow White - One with all dwarves, one just with Dopey
Pinocchio
Sleeping Beauty
Sorcerer Mickey - WDW 25 years

Erm, struggling now, there is more, just can't remember.

Normally we purchase from Emporium in Main St (MK), some store in MGM but can't remember name, or normally World of Disney at the Marketplace. Always buy from on site, cos i don't trust the off site retailers.
I will try and remember other snowglobes that we have :o)

We always buy this type of thing when we are there as you always get special ones not available in the UK, and they are so pretty who could resist them!

We have never had anyhting broken in the suitcase, as others have said the packaging that you get is second to none really.
