I'm taking my DBF to Disneyland for his first visit next year. I always just bring some snacks like jerkey or granola bars to munch on, but i want him to get the full Disneyland experience.
What are some Disneyland signature treats that he NEEDS to try. I was thinking the cream cheese pretzel and a dole whip. Any ideas? Thanks

My dh would say a Mint Julep!

I'd say a churro (for some reason they are better there) and a dole whip...

There is such an array of amazing snacks at the parks! So much more than just the regular theme park burgers, fries and cotton candy! But unfortunately, you will not be able to try everything in one visit for the sake of not bursting like a balloon.Here are some of the best must-have snacks at DLR...

Churros: The ones at disneyland are literally the best in the world!
Corndogs: Again, the ones at disneyland rival the ones any place else!
Pommes frites: french fries sold at café orleans with a louisiana twist!
Monte Cristos: Really rich deep-fried sandwich also at café orleans (and blue bayou)
Turkey legs: Meaty, strong, and AWESOME!
Red's apple freeze: A sort of frozen soda sold at the cozy cone in carsland.
Mickey shaped ice cream bar: Also buy everything else you see shaped like mickey

and finally... :cheer2: :cheer2:

DOLE WHIPS!!!!!!!! :cool1: :goodvibes :beach:

(Good luck with all those options)

Mickey-shaped beignets at the Mint Julep Bar, so yummy and so worth the powdered sugar mess!

Definitely the churros!!! :thumbsup2 I can't tell you how many DL trips I've been on where churros are dinner! lol

Also...
* Turkey Leg
* Corn Dog
* Dole Whip/Float
* Popcorn
* Mickey Pretzel
* Beignet(s)
* Anything from Marceline's Confectionery at DTD

I would agree with almost everything on the lists so far...for me, these are my top treats...
  • Dole Whip Float (Tiki Bar in DL)
  • Mint Julep and Beignet (Mint Julep Bar in DL)
  • Nuttles (Candy Palace in DL)
  • Tigger Tail (Pooh Corner in DL)
  • Whatever they are making in the show kitchen at the Candy Palace (DL)
  • Matterhorn Macaron (Jolly Holiday in DL)
  • Oswald Sundae (Trolley Treats in DCA)
  • Turkey Leg (either park)
  • Churro (either park)
  • Popcorn (either park)
  • Mickey Bar (either park)
  • Character Chocolate Caramel Apple (either park or Marceline's)
  • Peanut Butter Heaven (Marceline's)

What are Nuttles? The name is very intriguing . . . :)

This is my kind of thread!!
I love grab and go food. I think we ate a churro a day when we were there. They definitely are better in DL.

I've yet to try a Dole Whip. We live in Hawaii, and visit the Dole Plantation a few times a year because they have a train ride DS likes. But now I'm wondering if somehow they're better in DL. I mean, isn't everything better there?

I agree with the Mickey Shaped Beignets at Mint Julep and Red Apple Freeze from Carsland. I would like to add in Lobster Nachos from Cove Bar. :)

Off To Neverland :stitch2:

Disneyland Resort 1993-2000 & Passholder 2004-2014
Caribbean Beach Resort July 2001
Paradise Pier Resort 2009, November 2014
Grand Californian April 2010

Pop Century & Disney Dream Feb 2015!!

We had the Beignets from the Mint Julep bar and I was not impressed. I'm not sure if it's cause we got them after the fireworks, at around 945 but definitely not something I would get again. Also may be because not a fan of fried stuff.

I will say, the Hot Link Corndog was pretty good lol.

I will second the amazingly delicious lobster nachos at the Cove bar, the whole family loved them.

I've heard the beignets at Jazz are better than those, although I personally have not had them to compare. I only recently fell in love with beignets in the past year, so I'm itching to try some at DL! We had a restaurant similar to Jazz Kitchen and I would go there just for beignets.

Tigger Tails at Pooh's Corner are so good! Definitely worth a try. The caramel apples there are so adorable, almost too good to eat, but they are yummy, too!

I had an amazing red velvet cake pop, shaped like Mickey, from Marcelline's and it was so good!

The Lemon Bumblebee cupcake from Hungry Bear is amazing and almost too cute to eat! Almost.

I also have to have the peanut butter sandwich (peanut butter on graham cracker and covered in chocolate).

I always have to grab a rice krispie Hunny Pot from Pooh's Corner when we're there.

DS has to have a Corn dog from the Corn Dog Castle, DD and I are fans of Dole Whips and we love to pair a Dole Whip with a Matterhorn macaroon from the Jolly Holiday, DH likes the chili cones from Carsland, a cup of Gumbo and Beignets from Jazz Kitchen in DTD can be dinner for us, and we like to share any of the pretzels for an on the go snack.

We are not big meal eaters and are very happy to snack our way through vacation!
