Has the price of shipping gone down? I was looking today and I checked the price to ship a few items. For a toy and 2 sets of flatware, the shipping is 27.95. That seems lower than what I am used to seeing, which is why I never bought from them online before! If they have dropped their shipping rates then I'm a dancing banana! :rotfl2:

I'm wondering that too...and also had this in an email today about US shopping via VISA:

Skip the car ride for a stateside shopping trip. Instead, shop on any website in the U.S. –even those that don’t ship to Canada – with the help of Visa and Borderlinx. Score free Borderlinx registration, your own U.S. mailing address and 15% off Borderlinx shipping when you use your Visa card. Offer valid to December 31, 2009. For complete details, visit visaperks.ca!

DisneyShopping reduced the shipping rates to Canada in 2008. Still higher than what it should be for UPS Express Intl, it's better than the $40+ rates they used to charge.

Borderlinx (service from DHL) is wicked EXPENSIVE. If you run their calculator tool, it's pretty scary when you're better off paying UPS charges. Whoa!

I posted on here about a similar email for a service called 'myUS.com' whch sounds exactly like Borerlinx....sounded excellent at the time but when I looked into it the cost was just too high! I guess if it sounds too good to be true.... :)

So it looks as though it's better than it was, but it's still pricey. (And I'm behind! :lmao:) I think I'm going to order the flatware. I can't remember how they ship? Is it USPS? I hope so, they have the least fees coming into Canada.

Be careful, there is also a brokerage fee that UPS charges and I am not sure it is included when the shipping charge is calculated.

For example, I ordered something from the Disney Soda Fountain store, they were offering free shipping and no sales tax. When UPS delivered my parcel they wanted $26. that included duty and GST. $18 of that was a broker fee from UPS.

Disney Shopping ONLY ships USP Express Intl to Canada. You WILL be charged a handling fee, brokerage charges and taxes when they process the shipment coming into Canada. This will be on top of the shipping fee DisneyShopping will charge. Be warned, it is costly.

If you live close enough to the border, look into the UPS Ship and Hold that UPS offers. In my case, it's cheaper to drive from Ottawa to Ogdensburg, NY - where the UPS Store will hold a parcel for $5.

Hmm... I knew they would charge fees. Are they that bad? I live in PEI, it's hard enough to get to a Disney Store (closest is Halifax) let alone the US. I wish they had a Canadian Disney Store on line!
