Can someone refresh my recollection why Duffy (and friends) are not available at domestic parks any longer? My DD bought a Duffy in EP many, many years ago and fell in love with it. Judging by these images I cannot fathom falling love with something so darn cute.

I don't know. My parents got one each for my sister and I when they first came out and I used to buy the costumes when we went to WDW. We bought a new one for my nephew when he was born, too.

I think they just never really caught on over here. It's too bad - they are indeed cute!

He and his friends didn't really gain traction with consumers in the US. They're mega popular in the Asian parks though. They have their own land in TDS and when I was there the line to meet them was over 3 hours.

My favorite is Gelatoni - he's a cat who paints with his tail!

Always frustrating given how much ancillary character merchandise there is at WDW but a Disney created bear with fun books and videos for kids is shelved. I have the same frustration with the lack of Oswald merch at DCA.

One of the best memories of our first trip with the kids to WDW was my youngest meeting Duffy near the beginning of World Showcase after we got her a Duffy bear at the now defunct bear shop in the Germany pavilion. She showed Duffy her Duffy bear and he took it, hugged it, and then acted like he wanted to take off with it. Pure joy on my daughter's face. She still sleeps with that Duffy in her bed. She's now 13.
