Disney shopping gift card error

I just wanted to let everyone and this could have been 1 off but this past weekend i took advantage of the 30% off sale online . I made a purchase with a gift card i had and entered my CC info for the balance. I got an email today saying my gift card declined. I immediate called my gift card balance and it was okay the balance was still full. So I call Disney shopping to verify the number they had in thier system thinking maybe i typed 1 number or so wrong. ( it happens right) well the ladt reads the number they had and was COMPLETELY different from my gift card. No where near my card number. I asked if disney shopping has some kind of glitch and she said no... either or im glad this was fixed. Imagine if they crossed me with a card with a lesser balance than the card I had they would have charged my card the remaining balance. I made a note never to use gift cards online just a personal preference. I mean what if they did somehow take the balance and then" loose it" some how how can you prove how much was on there. anywho just wanted to share.

I always worry about gift cards for reasons like this. I keep the reciept for them if I give them to make sure the person gets the amount on the card. That actually happened to my mom with a card she gave someone.
