I am sure this has been asked before, but I heard from a friend of mine, that when you go to Disney, and go into certain restaurants and other places like shops etc. if you mention to the waitors/waitresses that you are scrapbooking, they will give you a little souvenir for your scrapbook?

Has anyone else heard of this? If so, is this in most places or just certain ones?

Thank you

I have gotten menus. For certain resturants at Disney. All you have to do is ask. I also think at the guest relations offices they have tiny ones the size of business cards, at least at Epcot.

I've also seen the business sized ones in MK in city Hall.

disrookie-Have you visited Scrapbook Plaza off Capital? They have some really good Disney stuff...It's not organized as well as it used to be (paper's harder to see, but they have more of it now, so it's all good) and they have a good selection, especially of the Jolee's...I know that has nothing to do with your actual question, but I'm going to miss that store after I leave town tomorrow (just graduated, going home) so I thought I'd share.

Disney souvenirs and scrapbooking it is this.......it doesn't hurt to ask!! I have received some of the coolest stickers, brochures, napkins, etc. just from opening my mouth and asking! When checking in to our Disney hotels, entering the parks, being seated at restaurants, etc I always mention that I am a huge scrapbooker and just adore memorabilia!! Guest services is usually your best bet, but don't be shy! The CM's are always cheerful and friendly when you approach them with a smile! If they don't have anything, what have you lost? Most likely you will have ended up having a wonderful conversation! I have bought pretty much everything Disney has ever come out with for scrapbooking, so it is a challenge to find unique things to make my pages memorable and special.

Another thing I do when staying at a Disney hotel is leave a note for housekeeping with her tip on the first night stating how I love scrapbooking and would love anything extra she might have. You wouldn't believe the cool things I received at The Disneyland Hotel for our album. Speaking of which, I have TONS extra that I can't bear to throw away. If anyone on this board happens to be scrapbooking a stay at The Disneyland Hotel. and you are interested, please let me know and I will ship some off to you.

Some fun things I like to scrapbook while at Disney are:

-flattened pennies
-a clean hot dog wrapper from Casey's in the Magic Kingdom, or -Pluto's Dog House in Disneyland
-the current napkin at the parks
-our hopper passes or annual passes once they have expired
-the current park map
-the confetti from shows
-the children's menus (you can get a clean one as you leave the restaurant!)
-Also, pictures the kids have colored while we are waiting for our food.
-stickers from Guest services, Disney's candy shops, or cart employees. (you might get lucky!)
-SEVERAL postcards from Disney's shops!!
-Mickey balloons from the day...you can mount them in those cute little memorabilia pockets once you take the air out. I have 3 cute Mickey ones folded so you just see Mickey on the front.
-Our Itinerary that Disney always sends prior to leaving.

Hope this helps! HAVE FUN!!!!

I don't ask (never thought of it), but I do collect anything I can get my hands on. I scrapped a page from our lunch at Peco's Bill's.... I did paper piecing (my first attempt) of a hamburger, hot dog, and french fries and mounted them next to the clean napkin I kept from our lunch that day. The napkin has the 100 years of magic logo on it. I love the way that page came out!! I also included the journaling about our lunch. Maybe someday I will learn to post pictures, but until then just use your imagination! Anyhow, my family thinks I'm loony when I collect "junk" like that, but they love the way it shows up in the books!.............P

We stayed at a Marriott time share this last trip. When we checked out we asked if we could keep the room key card because we were making a scrapbook. The girl at the desk said there were 4 different ones and gave us each the other 3 to make up the set. I was in a really unique and fun restaurant and asked the waiter if they had any paper menus or carry out menus with their logo on it because I was making a scrapbook. He went all out and came back with everything he could find with their logo on it. That little phrase "I'm making a scrapbook" is golden. I've asked for souvenir menus before but it just doesn't get the same response.

When we were at Le Cellier about 18 months ago, DBF and I were talking about the memorabilia that we were collecting from the wine and food fest for our scrapbook. Our waitress (one of the best we've ever had) joined the conversation and said that she loved scrapping too. By the time we left, I had a doggy bag full of things for our Canada page! She even found some paper maple leaves that they use to give to the kids. I am not shy about asking for new napkins or anything else that catches my fancy. I have never been refused! It has started many conversations too. It is nice to see how many of us out there are addicted!

We were at Whispering Canyon Cafe on 5/14 and I mentioned to our server, Kate, (wonderful!), that I was a scrapbooker and asked if I could have her autograph!! She was thrilled when I asked for her autograph. She came back to the table with a lot of "stuff" for me. A menu, clean paper napkin, cloth bandana, clean paper liner that they put in the bread baskets (has Disney "stuff" printed on it), and she said here, take a pen, too!!! My DH couldn't believe it. All of that was so unexpected, I was a happy girl!! I also took a picture of DH and Kate to place on the page with all the goodies!!! :p
