Disney Saratoga Springs Bus Service

Hi !

I'll be coming "home" to Saratoga Springs next week and was wondering if they still have the internal bus system. In years passed we have always had a rental car so it was never a problem, but this time decided to skip the rental car and opted for a room request closer to the Disney Springs pathway.

I read back in August that they were planning the internal resort only bus, but was not sure if it ever actually came to be.

The last I heard which started the end of out trip last year they have a bus that circles the resort and drops off at the path way to Disney Springs and will no longer have bus service to Disney springs only the boat. Be aware that starting 2017 you can ONLY have a room request near the Disney springs pathway which is Congress park if you book the preferred category which is higher points. Preferred is Congress park and The springs areas.

Hmm... So I booked back at the end of August and don't recall being asked if I wanted preferred - now I wonder where we'll be ???

That's interesting. DVC points reservations would have the guaranteed category.
The cash side doesn't have a choice. I wonder how they are handling that?

I'm guessing I'm going to have a standard room - since it was 154 points for Mon departing Sat. I checked 2017 chart after seeing the post and it comes out for the standard room. Maybe there will be some pixy dust in the air and we'll be upgraded to a preferred room ! We've own at SS but only stayed once a few years ago, our favorite is Beach Club.

Not to rain on your parade but with DVC there is no upgrades unless what you booked is taken offline for maintenance issues and in SSR that is highly unlikely. You can log onto to your account and change your booking I doubt you will have an issue... I strongly suggest you do so if that location will have bearing on you enjoying your vacation. On the good side we would not spend the extra points as we prefer Paddock... we did walk to Disney springs from this area and if you follow the bike path it is not bad... If you have not been to Disney springs in a while you will likely find taking the boat puts where you want to be now... We liked where the boat left is off as opposed to the walking path which was opposite in the past.... on another bright side you can see the higher the DS fireworks from the Paddock pool....

Advice would be to look at a map of SSR there is a section of Paddock that is very close to Congress park and will put you as close and closer than some of the further congress park buildings.. simply request a room in the range of the building and you will likely get as most who stay at Paddock want to be near the pool...

If it is not available it will be as it always was with DVC.. a Request... you may get it you may not. Even with DVC preferred is Springs and Congress park section it does not in anway guarantee you will be close to the Path to Disney springs...

The building close to Congress park is rooms 6501-6836... this would put you fairly close to the Disney springs walkway... I believe the higher number rooms would be the side of the building closest... That building would also be very close to the Congress park bus stop much closer than walking to the Paddock bus stop....

Not really going to worry about. Just happy to be spending time in Disney, so wherever our room ends up is fine by me. I don't mind the Disney transportation system, and it's a fairly short trip with college age kids, so it will be all good. Normally we rent a car so we can travel off property, but it so happens my hubby can't make the trip, so we decided to just stay on property and use magical express and Disney bus/water parks transportation.

I stayed at Saratoga in December in the grandstand section, it was the first stop to/from the parks, but going to the parks, it also stopped at the other sections before heading out. The only internal bus I saw there (imo) was the one that takes you to the treehouse villas. Other than that, the park buses just loop through all the stops
