Disney Roadtrip Playlist :)

For those of you that drive to The World, do you have a special playlist you listen to each time? What's on it? It doesn't have to be just Disney songs, I want to hear everything you got!

Most of my driving music is Japanese pop songs from anime programs. It's probably a niche genre...

Funny, I was just thinking about starting a thread on this question. When I'm headed to the parks I always listen to Dave Brubeck's album Dave Digs Disney. Last year I added Louis Armstrong's Disney Songs the Satchmo Way. I also have an iPod playlist with some songs from The Lion King and The Hunchback of Notre Dame soundtracks.

I save up a month's worth of podcast for our 17 hour drive for when we are both up and wide awake. DH doesn't listen except on trips. Gets the vacation started! When he is sleeping, I listen to my cardio mix of pop songs and when he is driving, it is 80s all the way. The last hour of the drive is our Disney collection of music, it makes the drive under the WDW welcome sign that much more exciting!

We make a point of starting each trip with "On the Open Road" from A Goofy Movie. After that it is a list of as many Disney soundtracks as we can find - mostly a 5 disc greatest hits box set. Of course there is the DIS mixed in, and as much Broadway as my family can stomach. Lots of Next to Normal, Avenue Q (the tracks I can actually play around my 16 year old brother), Rent, Wicked, Chess, Legally Blonde, Spring Awakening, Shrek, etc. On the way back we pop in any new CDs we bought on the trip. Last time it was Nemo the Musical. They don't come out with new CDs often enough...

I don't have a bunch of songs.....yet. We are going on a Disney cruise in 22 weeks. We want a way to celebrate each week that we are another week closer to our cruise so we are going to create our playlist one song a week until it's time to go. We have my husband, me, my 12 yr old son and my 10 yr old daughter. Each Friday one person (in 4 person rotation) will reveal a song to add to the playlist. We'll listen to it as it's built and then of course on the drive to port canaveral. Everyone is so excited! Has anyone else done this? If so, do you have any tips on ways to make it more fun?

I'm going to follow this thread for ideas on my picks!

I am constantly looking for new songs to add to my Disney playlist! Recently I have been buying songs from itunes thanks to the DISradio link. I usually listen to DISradio at work and when I hear a song that I really like I will click on the buy button and add it to my disney playlist!!

Excited to hear what others are adding!

(Right now on DISradio is "World of Color", might have to buy this one )

Mosh Pit on Disney, Dive into Disney, Breaks and Beats Disney, The best of Eurobeat Disney, DisneyMania (1-3), Nightmare Revisited and Classic Disney Volumes 1 - 5 are the mine and the kids favorites.

Just set the player on random and sing along as the songs play.....

After a few hours though, the kids start requesting we stop singing... well.. that I stop singing.

We sometimes listen to some songs from DisneyMania and also love some classic Disney Soundtracks. We will be back to DIsneyworld in a couple of weeks and then will refresh our Music List

I have over 5000 songs on my ipod so I usually just put it on shuffle (while I'm driving). When DH is driving he listens to Dave Ramsey podcast.
