Disney Rewards Visa - Photo Opportunity

We are leaving Friday (if this pending snow storm doesn't interfere ) and I had a question about one of the many things we received in the mail about our trip.

We have a Disney Reward Visa and one of the mailings we received lists some of the "perks" of having the card. One thing mentioned is a Cardmember Character Meet 'n Greet Photo Opportunity - you receive a complimentary 5 X 7 photo.

Does any one know if there is a specific place you go for this? Or is it at any character meet & greet?

This is our first time traveling to Disney since getting the card.

I have seen posts here about a meet and greet for Disney Visa members at Epcot near Innovations. Do a quick search of the planning and stragedies board for the specifics.

The location is just past the fire truck in Innovations.

Yes.

My kids love this character meet. They are in a private room and you enter one family at a time. It's a surprise of two or three characters-- we've had Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto in various combinations. You can go once per day-- we go three times each trip (whenever we're in Epcot between 1:30 and 4:30).

The photographer will take several shots for you to choose from.

This is what I learned from "Chris" at Guest Relations in Epcot:

• There is a "Visa Room". (Who knew? )
• It is located somewhere in Innoventions West
• There is a removable sign directing the happy few who see it. When the event is over, the sign is removed.
• If you don't see it, and miss the event, oh well. (I'm working on being less bitter about Chris's attitude)
• It is not one of the regular meet n greets.

My advice is if you don't see the removable sign, go to Guest Relations for directions, before the event time is over. The directions from Disney Visa are very vague, but do say ask at GR if you are having trouble locating the room.

We've gone six times and waited 5-10 minutes. Usually there were one or two families in line ahead of us.

Only once did we see a longer line. During our last trip we headed over about 15 mins before it started. There were 3 families there already and a huge line formed behind us. I'm sure the people who arrived right at 1:30 waited at least an hour.

You also have to get your free printed picture BEFORE you leave Epcot that day (or Epcot closes). I thought I could go to a kiosk at the hotel that day. Nope.

We have done it every time we go down.
One year we got there in between character changes.. we had Mickey/Minnie/Pluto/Goofy and Donald!

Normally I go in january.. and never a wait. This year we are going end of this month.. not sure if there will be a wait

We've never waited more then 15 minutes. My DH and I both have cards so they give us coupons for 2 free pictures. It's a nice huge room and they don't seem to rush you at all. The line is outside the room and they let each family in one at a time which is nice.

They will give you a claim slip and direct you where to go. There is a Customer Service type location near the SE where you pick out your photo and they will print it right then and there.

Our wait to have our pic taken was 5 mins (behind one family) and there was no line to have our pic printed. A great benefit for card holders!
