I notice from the Disney Rewards Visa benefits that there is a character meet and greet especially for card members. Has anyone done this? Is it worth it? How do you find out when and where it is on?

I did try a quick search but couldn't find anything...

TIA

It's in DCA, currently in the backlog area near Monsters Inc. I think it is for just the first hour the park is open? Maybe til 10:30. It is kind of hidden, but it's there.

They give you a coupon for a free 5x7 and they put the pictures on a photopass. While a lot of people have had luck getting the print of ANY picture on their photopass (we have before as well), on our last visit, the cashier was very specific that it had to be from the Meet and Greet.

Chip and Dale were there our last vist. Before we have also seen Mickey and Goofy. No line hardly at all the few times we have been.

I did it for the first time a couple weeks ago. The characters we were going to get was going to be Chip and Dale, but switched as we got to the front and got to see Pluto instead.

I think that it's totally worth going just to get a free pic w/ a character! lol.

It's located right next to Mike and Sully to the Rescue on the right hand side and a sign will be there so you know you're in the right spot. I'm not sure what time it starts and ends, but it's held in the morning. All you do is show the person your visa card when you're in the front and you're good to go!

Yes, it is definitely worth it! You get a free 5x7 picture with the character, and you can add the little Disney graphics in when you print it up. You take your Photopass card to the Greetings From California shop at the entrance and get your picture printed out there.

The spot is kind of hard to find. It's in the the Hollywood Pictures Backlot right in the back corner in between the Monster's Inc. ride and the Hyperion Theater. There's a very small sign that says something like cardmember entrance. There may or may not be a CM standing there, so go around the back. It runs from opening until 11:30 am, I believe. We went twice--once it was Pluto, and once it was Chip and Dale. I didn't get there in time the other day we were in the park. :sad1: Others might know better, but I think they tend to have the same characters more than once a week, but it's still worth getting the free picture!

They recently changed the times for the Cardmember Meet 'N' Greet.

It's now daily from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The location remains the same: in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot at DCA, behind the drive-in facade adjacent to Stage 12.

If we've done this at WDW, can we have our picture made again since it's at DL?

So If I'm there for 7 days, can I go 7 times and get 7 5x7 photos?

Yep, you sure can.

We always have the intention of going a couple of times while we are there, but it never works out that way. We usually only remember once. For whatever reason, we always seem to be in DL in the mornings, and when we go to DCA, it's usually in the afternoons.

We went in 2007 when it was still at Epcot. We had to wait a little while since the characters were on a break. We saw Mickey, Minnie and Pluto. They spent alot of time with my kids and I got great pictures. Worth it to us.

For the record, the free 5x7 photopass pic is only supposed to come from the meet and greet, but many CMs don't enforce. When I did it, the CM told me that it's supposed to be from the meet and greet, but she didn't mind. She did note that another CM might enforce it.

So, know going in that you may have to get a meet and greet photo. I suspect that most CMs just worry about it being a character photo. Either way, it's still a great deal.

We stopped there and got our pic taken with Pluto. Since we're novices at having our pictures taken - we were a mess! (well...I was! fanny pack on, ballcap....I didn't look so good!) We ended up having our picture taken with Mickey at his house in Toontown. No problem getting that one instead of the one with Pluto. Not sure if we could have gotten one free without a character.
