Disney Rewards Visa Card Use

Last night my mom applied for a Disney Rewards VISA with a $200 reward offer. We're hoping she'll receive it, use it once, wait for the bill to come in, then I can go go on line and request the $200 Disney Rewards and , hopefully, receive that before I leave for vacation on 8/14. I know it's going to be really close! We have a room only reservation at Poly made through Orbitz so the room is already paid in full. In case the $200 Rewards Card isn't received by the time we leave, I'm wondering if it arrives while we're on vacation, if mom could just give me the card number over the phone and then I could call the front desk at Poly, give them the card number and they could apply it to our room charges. What do you think? This will be a great savings!

We applied for our card mid May received the card around 10 days later charged our Disney vacation to the card 6-6-10 statement ran on 6-21-10 and our rewards were there for the $200 as soon as the statement ran. I ordered the card yesterday on line for the points and it stated I should have it by 7-5-10 for our trip end of July. That might give you a time frame to figure by good luck.

Is your mom not going on vacation with you? The cardholder can go to Guest Services at any of the 4 parks and Downtown Disney to pick up their Disney Rewards Card. I don't know if they can apply the money toward your balance without the actual card.

Wow....it's going to be really close! Maybe once my mom receives her credit card, she can call to find out her statement ending date. Then the day after the statement ending date, I can go on line and order the Rewards card before we actually receive the hard copy of the statement (to try to speed up the process). Do you think this might work?

No, mom is not going with us. She applied for the credit card so she could give us the $200 Disney Rewards but if we don't receive it before we leave, I was hoping we could get the card number and apply it to our room charges since the room was booked/paid through Orbitz. I guess another option would be to have her send it overnight or 2-3 night delivery to us at Poly. Is it confusing/difficult to receive mail at a Disney resort?

I would def. NOT wait for the statement. Have your Mom (or you) set up online acct. info through Chase. Then you can go online everyday and check when the $200 is in the rewards acct.

there might even be the possibility of your Mom calling Chase as soon as she recieves the card and bumping up the billing end date (I don't know for sure but that's always advertised that you can change your statement dates to coincide with your paycheck schedule).

When I called Chase to activate my Disney Visa card they asked me what day of the month I wanted my payment to be due; maybe your Mom can choose one that will cut down on the wait time for the statement to close?
