Disney Rewards Program--ROOM CHARGES?

I am feverishly collecting points on my Disney Visa Rewards Credit card.

I will transfer all funds From the VISA Card to the Rewards Program Card shortly before leaving for our trip.

The pamphlet for redeeming the Rewards Program Card lists a handful of shops and restaurants within the Parks. It does state that it is a "partial" list.

The pamphlet also states that the Rewards Program Card can be used for ROOM CHARGES.

What defines a room charge?

For example, if I make purchase at a shop that does not take the Rewards Program Card, can I charge the purchase to my room, and then use the Rewards Program card to pay for those expenses when I check out? Or is a ROOM CHARGE things like room service and the like?

I believe almost EVERY place at WDW uses the reward card. If they have a credit card machine, you should be able to use your gift card. I know you can pay off your room with it and I am planning on using it almost exclusively for food and souvies. I will have a little over $700 in Visa rewards, plus about $900 in gift cards from SR, QR & CD.

I think the only places that do NOT use your cards would be a few of the cart type food places. Rain Forest Cafe also does not use Disney cards or dollars.

And I guess if you would rather use your room key for charges, rather than your visa reward card, then you could pay off your room charge with your visa reward card.

I just add the balance on my rewards card to my room when I check in. It is just like a credit. I use my KTTW to pay for everything. When the credit runs out, the remaining balance is charged to my cc on file.

This sounds great to me! The less cards I have to carry around and keep track of, the happier I'll be.
