disney Reward Visa

Anyone have this? How does it work?

Use the card, pay on time, you get reward points.

WE have been using our visa to try to earn points and it really breaks down to 1%, which isn't that high of a return. I am planning on going to our bank's own visa which has better rewards.

It is nice to have the visa in the park, I recieved a free pic in EPcot.

I'm with you. I have the Disney Visa, but barely use it because it only earns 1%. I hold a Mastercard that earns 3% on some purchases, 1% on others and if rewards build to $200 before cashing in then they add another $50. It's taken me three years to get $900 on my Disney Visa in rewards. After four months with the other Mastercard I have almost hit the $200 mark. The math just makes more sense.

In addition, I never carry a balance.

Is everyone forgetting that in Downtown Disney you show the Disney Visa at the big WDW store and get 10% off purchase's. We have been DV Rewards members since day one, use it to pay everything then pay it off. We have well over $300. rewards points now and by the time we go will be close to $400.
The one bill we could not pay on the DV was the mortgage. But everything esle gets paid and then we pay it off most times online before the end of the month, just to get the rewards.

How close to your trips, do you get your reward cards? I want to get 2 cards one for each DGD. It won't be much but for 2 10yr olds, I think it will be. How long after you order them, do they come? Where do I order them??

I think it says up to 2 weeks for the Rewards Cards to be delivered but we had ours in less than a week. After that you can go online or call & transfer points to the card which is done within 24 hours.

I agree that you can get better rewards with other cards but I just love getting these little Disney perks! Last year we cashed in $953 rewards dollars - it allowed us to stay at AKL (over a value or moderate) which was on the top of my list to stay at. This year so far I only have 200 points but that will be great for food & snacks for my November trip with DS. We charge everything on it & pay it off in full each month so there's no fees or interest.

nevermind my original answer... I think if you log onto your account you can request the rewards cards from there. I don't know how long it takes though.

If I would've thought about it, I would've used it this spring at work to pay off the bills, then just submit a check to cover the visa. But I wasnt planning a trip then and didnt even think about it. It's a slow time at work, so I dont want to take the chance of us having to make payments (even at work) as that kinda kills the whole idea of paying it off. Grrrrr.. I'll remember it next year. I could've had like $130-140 / month for 3 or 4 months...
