Disney Reward card-pay for balance on room?

If I had some Disney visa rewards,and booked a package- would I be able to use them to pay the full balance on a MYW package when we arrive?
I have some to use,and would be booking with the dining package,and want to calculate cost of trip using my rewards points....

We have done this before, but what you need to do is go to DTD BEFORE you check in. At DTD guest services they have the materials needed to get your rewards onto a gift card. (you go to their guest services and ask for the Disney Rewards card packet for using rewards, they'll give you and envelope which has the info and an empty gift card on it, on the card there will be a phone number to call to activate the card and they'll ask you how many of your reward $ you want on the card, you don't have to put all your reward $ on the card AND you can call later in your trip as needed to add more of your $ to this card). After you do this, go to your hotel and check in and use your rewards points to pay off your balance.

You can use your Visa rewards points to pay off a package; however you won't be able to do it when you check in. Packages have to be paid in full 45 days before you check in. If you make room-only reservations you can pay your balance with the rewards card when you check in, though.

We transfer our rewards monthly and use them to pay down the balance of our package. They won't pay the balance in full, but it helps to suppliment the payment. And yes, the package needs to be paid for in full at the 45 day mark.
