Disney Restaurant Prices

Yes, I think all their prices for food are outrageous. Also I hear it's 6 dollars for a Mickey bar now? Wow. It isn't really about the prices to us, it's whether we get good food and service for the price. For Ex: Boathouse at DS has always had delicious food and great servers. We didn't mind paying what we did for that meal. Now it seems all disney's park and resort sit down meals have been cut back somehow.
However, I just went through McDonalds drive through with my daughter and ordered just 2 egg, bacon, cheese biscuits - no drinks or potatoes just the biscuits. The charge was $11.50 for those 2 biscuits! We told the girl that we didn't want the meals,, just the biscuits. She said that's what it costs and "McDonalds is expensive now". I couldn't believe they charged that much - that's 5.75 a biscuit with tax. That's crazy for McD's and we won't be back.
At some point, you have to eat! Everything is relative...McD's is one of the last bargains at WDW since Earl of Sandwich. popcorn::

A healthy mix of expensive dinners paired with less expensive quick service meals such as Capt. Cooks is KEY to surviving a Disney trip. I’d love to learn more about getting gift cards at a discount and other hacks.

Our local grocery/retailer MEIJER has reward offers a few times a year where they will give back $5 for every $50dollars sold in a GC ( incl. DISNEY) limit 10 offers. I will buy a $500 GC. On my next shopping trip for groceries, I will have 10 offers to use for $5 each. I click on each one which reduces the total by $50 dollars BUT what I do is also buy a $50 Disney GC at the same time. Thus my groceries are costing the same but I just got a free GC. AND I buy those same GC's with my Disney Visa, therfore I actually am getting a %11 return. Win Win!

All theme parks, stadiums, movie theaters are expensive these days. You can choose not to eat there as nobody is forcing you to. It’s a choice you have to make. By NYC standards the prices are not high but by other areas they are. Your choice.

You're in a movie theater or stadium for a few hours. You don't have to eat. You're in a local park like 6 flags for a day. Bring food or buy one meal.

A Disney vacation is many days, maybe a week. Food cost, quality and variety is more significant then in the other locations you mentioned.

If you’re staying on property you can often prepare your own meals or have food delivered. Same if you’re off property honestly. Also, Disney let’s you bring in food which none of the other places do. It’s 100% a choice whether or not you think the dining is worth the price.

I’m from Chicago and I still think Dis prices are high. It makes me so sad to skip BOG lunch now since it’s table service. I would love to experience Storybook and Space Restaurant but $70 pp too outrageous. We did get Ohana in May, etc but more out of a tradition I can’t break.

Yeah, we lived just across the Potomac from D.C., and I worked in D.C. for years (and often was in NYC) and the Disney prices are crazy high, for much lower quality food. At least that's my impression.
