Disney Resort hotel parking cost

I read that they were testing charging for onsite resort hotel parking for guests who are not staying at the resort. Have they implemented this throughout the parks? If so what is the cost? Thanks!

Kinda a hard question to understand...they charge at the parks for those not staying on property...that won't change.

They may charge hotel visitors not staying there - or even staying there as in California - to discourage squatters using limited supply hotel lots or just making additional easy revenue. It they charged at DVCs they'd make a fortune

I was asking specifically about onsite resorts. But it looks like they don't charge as of yet. Thanks!

I hope they won't charge to park there for a dining reservation (just staying for the meal).

I think it's probably...eventually...be worse than that...

They'll eventually tack on the $15-20 a day automatically if you stay there...just like Disneyland.

Hopefully they will allow those staying on property to continue to use their cars freely. While we mostly take Disney Transportation... sometimes I just want to ride in the comfort of my own vehicle. The air condition, space, my own choice of music... that can make the difference between a good experience or a bad one on some random afternoons when I am feeling particularly cranky. Paying to park at a resort that I am dining in will surely trip the crankometer as much as being a sardine.

Umm...no...there is no consideration for parking fees in the "we provide exceptional value" hotel rates...

They may never charge a separate fee...they may institute them across the board. Time will tell.

The fee would include the usual things like your use of the recreational facilities, transportation, parking, Magical Express, Extra Magic Hours, theme park parking, etc. It seems like it would be a better revenue source than just a parking fee. Of course, many resorts have both a resort fee and a parking fee, so I could see this eventually evolving into both. It is difficult, if not impossible to park at the deluxe resorts without a room reservation or a dining reservation. During busy times, a three hour limit has been enforced if you only have a dining reservation.

I'm not sure what the difference in title would be...since it both involves paying for something currently included.

Then they better start charging offsite guests to use transportation and resort parking.

Not the same. The onsite guest could be paying to be onsite AND paying to eat there.

And anyone can use the buses, monorails and boats. If part of that fee is for "transportation" they better find a way to charge offsite guests or not let them use it.

I see your point.

But what I'm saying is that parking/transportation abuse from offsite doesn't "officially exist"...

The guard shacks and dining reservations did away with most and they will never scan your key on and off the monorail.

There's a difficult line between fees and making the place seem like lockdown like a naval base.

They have already - my opinion - come to close with restricted properties and scanners.

The business is built on the perception of happiness and escapism. By design since 1955. They know that it butters their bread.

I expect that they will massage the language to make it seem OK. I think that they would find it very costly to start charging resort guests for use of the transportation as anyone with a car would likely just drive, requiring the expansion of the parking lots and tram systems.

Swan/Dolphin charges for parking and has a resort fee. No mention of transportation in the resort fee.
