I thought Disney was updating there site for the new packages but only the old ones are showing up. I realize that the new packages are for starting in Jan. but if you were planning on a Jan or Feb. trip wouldn't ya want to make the reservations now? :confused3 :badpc: So whats the deal?

They have all kinds of information about the packages on their site so you can plan your trip. You just can't book the new packages until after January 2nd. You can always change your package after the fact.

They have information on their site but not exact prices. (Which to me is the most important information to have ) Why bother even announcing the new packages if they won't let you reserve them for the time when they are active? Even they expect payment to be in advance for 45 days. Why should we have to pay (again) to call them to change a package deal? Just what is the big deal to give us the information and let us book. Sorry for the rant, I just think what Disney is doing is so wrong! :earseek:

I'm not sure what prices you can't find. The only exact prices not listed are for the 10-day package. It would make no sense for Disney to allow you to purchase these new tickets or packages before the date that they are officially available. I'm confused as to what your complaint is. If you do want to take advantage of MYW when it is launched you can always trade in any tickets you purchase beforehand. There is no fee for that.

I'm really curious about the package prices as well. Ali did you see prices for the accomations or just tickets? Will there be any discount for the rooms? or just rack rates? The dining package looks good!

As I stated in my orginal post was that I wanted the prices of the packages not the tickets. :earseek: That is what I am upset about! Hello!

Regardless, my point is still valid. You can still go with another package and upgrade later. I thought in your first post you were complaining about not being able to actually purchase the new packages before January 2nd, not just getting the exact pricing information about them. All of the other information is available except the prices. And I don't see how getting upset about it is helpful in the least. I was not trying to attack you just respond to your query. I apologize if that upset you further.

I know exactly how you feel. I'm also waiting for the package prices to be released. I can't book the package until January 2, and it must be paid in full by March 7. :earseek:

Booking the silver package won't help me at all, because it isn't going to be the same price as the MYW dining package.

My son has asked to bring a friend along this time. I wanted to ask the boy's dad soon. Of course the first thing he'll want to know is how much it will cost.

Oh well, I'll just have to sit tight and wait to see what happens.

Well, I guess you could go by the general guidelines that they give. a 6 night/7 day package for a family of four at a value resort starts at less than $1500, moderate - $1800, and deluxe - $2500. This includes your base tickets.

♦Price based on 2 adults, 1 junior and 1 child occupying one standard room during regular season in 2005. Lower prices apply during value seasons in 2005. Not available for all arrival dates. 7-day Theme Park admission must be used within 14 days of first use.
*This benefit is also available to guests staying at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel, the Lake Buena Vista Hilton and Shades of Green.

I know its not specific but it'll have to do for now. I guess I'm not really sure why it matters so much if you won't be able to book it until January 2nd. I'm not trying to attack anyone; I was just wondering if someone could calmly explain it to me. I know it would be nice to have the info but I don't see it of complete value just yet anyway.

Unless there is some special promotion, like the 7-for-4 DreamMaker a while back, package prices are rack rate for the resort, plus tickets, plus dining plan if you're doing that. As I understand it, if you're doing the dining plan then you will need the MYW tickets equal to the number of nights you are staying plus one. So...if you're looking at a 6 night stay...

add 6 nights rack rate for whichever resort/season you want
plus the 7 day MYW ticket (with whichever features you want)
plus the $35/night dining package per adult ($10 per child I believe)

...you'll get the package price.

It's very annoying that they say these new packages begin on January 2nd but you can't even get prices until January 2nd. We are checking in to WL on January 2nd and I'd like to price out a package vs what I have booked now. The person at CRO said I could modify my reservation that morning while checking in but that is way too spur of the moment for me.

I agree. You can figure out the costs, ballpark, but I would rather have the "official" price as well. It is frustrating.

I need a price for 2 adults, 2 children during value season. They only give regular season 2 adults, 1 junior, and 1 child. This should make a big difference in priceing. The point I am making is why are they advertising this big package deal that is valid in Jan., when they don't allow you to book it until Jan... The people going in Jan. must be frusterated even more than me going in early February. Why can't they at least give you a real quote so you can deceide if you want to do the package? There could be other things included that we don't know about. In the silver plan you received a lanyard and pins, special viewings of parades, and etc. But price is a big factor to most of us for a vacation and it is very important to know ahead of time, not at the last minute. The old plans are totally different in priceing. I am sure someone at DIsney knows the priceing, why not release it? Jan and most of Feb is value season, so why not start with priceing with the 1stand 2nd month of the special deal. People going in regular season will have pleanty of time to plan, but not people going in Jan or Feb.

I sometimes get the impression that the "higher-ups" at DW either don't *want* us to plan in advance, or aren't even aware that people DO plan in advance. :sad2:

I am also hearing people figureing out the rack rate room, dinning plan, tickets, and taxes and still are coming up with a lesser figure than what the Disney site says. Why am I upset? I try to make the best use of my money on this vacation. I have to deceide on what and how many Disney meal I can do. If I don't know what the real prices I can't plan everything. If I don't do the dinning plan, I won't plan to eat as many sit down meals, or maybe I won't buy tickets for everyday, or maybe I can't afford a moderate resort and have to go to a value one. I guess if you are rich, and prices are no concern then maybe you don't need to know in advance. It sounds like I am not the only feeling this. I am going in Feb., is getting priceing less then 2 months away being unreasonable? I can see why it doesn't bother you hippichic because you have over 200 days !

I feel for you. I do. I know that this must seem very last minute. However, it does make sense to me that Disney wouldn't give you a quote when they haven't even finalized the packages. This is the case in most places. You can't book a package until it actually becomes available. I am not rich. Why do you think I'm planning so far in advance. But I have my vacation booked and I have plus 200 days. I'm just not sure why you can't book something if you know you are going for sure and make changes as the information becomes available. I'm not sure what other advice you were hoping to receive with your post. I don't mean to sound snobby or snarky, honest. It just seems to me that you are getting upset about something that nobody here or yourself can control.

Ali

Okay, whatever, I guess I am totally wrong. I have no reason to be upset. I guess I was wrong from the very begginning because no one feels this way. I guess Disney is perfect in everything they do. I guess you can't complain on this board. Geeze what a mistake I made ! I wish I could just leave this board and hide. I am sorry for wasting your time! :space: :

Well I will join you in being annoyed. I'm completely frustrated that I'm planning a Christmas trip in less than 10 days and there are no 'official' hours for MK listed on the disneyworld.com site still after nearly three days. Christmas to New Year's is the busiest time of year to visit and even Disney recommends coming with a plan but that gets a bit complicated without park hours!!!!! What the heck is the problem???!!!

Anyway, I'm a bit obsessive-compulsive when planning my vacations and spending nearly 4 grand so I understand your desire for obtaining new package info. Do most people really plan their vacation to Disney at 30-60 days out?? I can't be the only one who plans a year in advance and has to save all year???

I imagine the only reason Disney announced the new MYW tickets and packages and not then make them available for booking straight away is because they had to.

Let's face it there is zero way you can tell goodness knows how many Cast Members at CRO, plus another goodness knows how many travel agents of the upcoming changes and still keep it secret. Yet all those people have to be told in advance because they need to learn about the new products they are selling before it goes live. I heard that the CM's in CRO were told about it just about the same time as everyone else - and those guys really need to know how these new packages and tickets work in their sleep otherwise it'll be chaos.

Obviously it's frustrating, but I don't really see how they could have made changes of this magnitude and done things any differently.
