I received an email from Disney a few days ago saying that they are changing the price of Memory Maker beginning Dec. 13th. (No mention on the new price.) They thanked me for my loyalty and offered me a $20.00 credit to be used at My Disney Photo Pass but not for the purchase of Memory Maker. I contacted my travel agent and asked what was going on. She explained that Disney was dropping the price of this product and they were giving me a credit but not lowering my price because I "purchased" it prior to Dec. 13th. I felt that I was being taken advantage of and told her I would think about whether or not I wanted to drop the product. Fortunately, she decided to contact Disney and had the price of my Memory Maker discounted by $20.00.

If you received a similar email I would contact Disney and try to get the new price applied to your package.

:)

In the world today
All the ride attractions showed a new price of $169.99.... which was the same price if you preordered it.

In the app that just updated it lists "1 day memory maker" option now. not sure pricing or anything.

makes me wonder what ticket prices are about to increase too if they are dropping memory makers price.

I really don't know. I was really surprised to receive the email from Disney giving me a credit. I was even more surprised when I found out that they had actually lowered the price. I can't remember a time when I had a package booked and the prices went down.

I had received one of their surveys after last summers trip. This survey did focus on Memory Maker and the value you get for the price. It is hard to justify the high cost when they eliminated the CD's as well as many of the 5x7 photos you used to receive.

I just wanted to post this in case anyone else was planning a trip and could benefit from the lower price.

Thanks! I got the same email. Now I have to decide if it's worth it to call and hopefully get the $20 refunded. Anyone have input about if it was a relatively quick/easy thing to do?

I keep looking for an email but cant find one to me. Can anyone tell me who it is from exactly so I can see if it went to my spam folder?

I was going to purchase it last week, but the card was declined (as it is every time I try to make an out of state purchase - so very inconvenient.) at the $169 price. Finally had time to argue w/ the bank yesterday & added it to my cart again and it was only $149! So, for the first time, I'm glad the bank has such tight controls!

The lower price might almost make it worth it for us to buy Memory Maker before our short trip (3 park days) but I'm not sure if we'll be in the mood to pose for a bunch of pictures or not. If I pre-purchase and end up not wanting the photos we get, do I have the option of not redeeming MM and holding it for our next trip? Or is it automatically redeemed when we start using our magic bands for pictures?

We are going 1/3/16 just went on Disney my experience app to order memory make and the price is still showing $169? Is anyone else seeing the same thing? I shut down iPad just in case there was an update but there was no change. Just don't want to order and then get a credit thank you!
