I just read a couple of trip reports where the writers or someone in their party came down with "Disney Rash".... What is it? What do you do if you get?

The only time I've ever gotten a rash at Disney, it was heat rash.

It is basically a painful heat rash on your legs. Just make sure to put sunscreen on your legs, especially the back of them and you should be good.

as PP said. Its caused by heat and walking for long periods on concrete. It gets called Disney Rash as its very common in visitors to WDW and Disneyland California, both places which have high temperatures and involve lots of walking on concrete surrounded by buildings. The concrete and buildings absorb the heat, which combined with all the walking creates a heat rash on legs.

It's heat rash. My family had it. We use gold bond powder and stay cool to keep it away. Sweat makes it worse. Gold bond works great! Hope this helps!

WOW!! never had heard of this... so you guys recommend lots of sun screen and gold bond?

Gold Bond had always worked for us. I can't say it will work for everyone but it's worth the 99 cents. You can get small bottles of it in Targets travel size section. We usually keep some o hand our entire trip in our back pack. Of course sun screen is a must have in Florida.

Yeah DS has a bit right now. I on the other hand have been eaten up by bugs! I've got mosquito bites, spider bites, and a few I can't figure out. Was paranoid they might be bed bugs but we tore that bed apart and they were pristine.

Who knows...

So you put it on after the suncreen or when you get the rash?

OK So Sunscreen every day while in the parks helps with preventing sunburn. Gold bond can prevent a rash, but also can soothe a rash. We mostly use it if we actually get a rash. Also cooling off in the AC will help with prevention. From what we've experienced and what we have heard most people that get heat rash, get it on their legs or core area. Gold bond worked for us. Don't worry so much about it unless you have to. Just enjoy yourself :-) Also be sure to take advantage of free ice water at most quick service restaurants through out Disney parks.
