Disney raising room rates next week?

I read a rumor online that the room rates are set to increase on 4/24 and I am assuming this is for the rest of 2014. In the past, once the rates were set Disney did'nt adjust them like this, or did they? If this comes to pass I just wonder if they are starting to think like DCL and raise the prices of rooms as they fill.

I have never heard of room rates being raised after prices have set. Disney has in the spring raised ticket prices.

Personally I don't see this happening. The last couple of years Disney has decided to raise room rates to turn a profit since bookings have been stagnant. You can only bleed a turnip so much as to say before it dries up.

No clue about the veracity of the rumor, but if they plan on raising room rates, it makes sense for them to raise the rates before releasing the FD deal since that deal includes rack rates for rooms.

They raised the rest of 2014 DDP rate about a month ago with no fanfare or announcement so I could see it happening. I haven't seen anything about it though.

DVC is raising costs in June. Maybe that is what OP meant??

I read it as a rumor in a link regarding Free Dining. It completely inter twined with Free Dining. Have no idea if it is true or not, but Disney seems to be getting more money hungry by the day now, as to in the past, so I don't know. We will just wait and see I suppose.

I looked for it but I couldn't find it. I believe it was just a poster mentioning it in the Dads guide to Disney or something. Or it could be that they are going to announce the 2015 rates.

Since they typically release the following year room rates about a month after a ticket increase, I would expect the 2015 room rates to come out soon.
