Disney Quest

It was seemingly confirmed last year that Disney Quest would be closing to make way for an NBA themed restaurant and attraction venue but from some of the vlogs I've seen Disney Quest is still open and the rumor is this NBA deal fell through. Does anyone know this to be confirmed and what the plans are moving forward?
Its too bad Disney Quest can't just stay around, I think if they dropped any charge to get in it would pick up popularity but its just hard to justify with the cost I think.

Disney Quest is going to be open for the rest of 2016. From everything I've heard the NBA deal fell through and Disney quest will close in 2017 now but no word for what.

Not sure if there are any actual reports on it, but thought I heard somewhere they were sending NBA to Miami (at one point I think I heard someone mention they might go back to Universal but I never heard it anywhere else so I just ignored it. Wish I could remember where I heard that).

I don' know about that but I know Disney wanted the NBA to pay for pretty much everything and of course the NBA didn't want to do that.

I was just at DQ last week and if they are staying open they have some work to do. The Aladdin ride was gone, Wonderland Cafe was closed, no Animation Academy classes at all, fewer arcade games than I remembered...the place looked like they were giving up on it. And it was DEAD. Such a shame...I hope they refresh it and keep it open.

They have been giving up on it. It hasn't been updated in years.

I just read a recent review on my facebook feed. I hadn't done the Buzz Lightyear bumper thing in Chicago (it probably wasn't there). If my next stay had a free entry, I'd make a point this time. Unfortunately it seems that there will be no free entries until they shutter it. Must be about a ghost town.

I just spoke with a Disney representative and was told that they plan to close on May of 2016. Bummer! We'll be there in August and I bought the water park fun and more tix for quest and water parks. One son hates water parks, loves DQ. So it was something to do while my other son went to the water parks with my husband.

That was the original plan but that closure was pushed back as far as I know.

Is it true that the Water Park Fun and More ticket does not include DQ any longer? If what "Blonde Alligator" says is true, I can't imagine that they would require separate admission for entry.

That is correct it is not included in the ticket any more.

Just so you know if you're going anytime soon, the tickets were 1/2 off when we went. The sign said "Today Only" but had no dates so I'm sure they use it everyday to get people in the door.

Some kind of kid entertainment would be perfect at DS in DQ's place. Not much else for kids there.

With a building that size I love the idea of a kids play/bounce/activity area themed to Disney standards. I have a feeling parents would pay quite a bit of they could drop off their kids and go shopping for an hour...

Ita. Or an indoor ropes course, a Dave and Busters type place. Something like that would be a big draw for us.

Awesome idea. I'd do a floor of trampolines & possibly keep a floor of the most popular DQ attractions.

Great We got added water parks and more specifically to go to DQ.
