is it worth it for adding on pluses to tickets. DD's almost 15 and not really a gamer. She can get anxious so I'm a bit concerned about enclosed, crowded spaces with loudish noises. Is it a teenage "chucky cheeses".
What's your thoughts about it.
TIA

We love it, but my boys like games and my husband likes the old arcade games. If your daughter isn't into that kind of thing it wouldn't be worth it, imo. :)

Oh, and it is really really noisy.

DH and I are split on DQ. He loves it. He's a gamer and grew up playing video games. I could care less and tend to get overwhelmed after a few hours inside. Some things are a lot of fun (Buzz's Astro Blaster - bumper cars with projectiles) and the themeing is good. When we get 10-park passes we get the add on but we don't get the Premium AP.

From my own experience: If your daughter tends to get overwhelmed I would skip it. It is dark and noisy inside with a lot going on.

I took DS, DD, and DD's BFF and we all had a blast! DS is the gamer and the rest of us aren't but we were still having fun. We were exhausted when we left, especially after doing Mighty Ducks! It's busy and loud, but fun.

Well our opinion is never again - we really didnt like it when we went but that being said it was my husband and myself with a 4 year old girl... :) but we already decided next trip we will skip it and spend that time in the parks

I'm not a huge gamer but I did absolutely love it. There's lots to do, from old style pinball to designing your own roller coaster. That was my daughters favorite thing to do. Plus there's an area to just sit down and relax - you can even get online.

My daughter was old enough that one night, I checked her into DQ and went next door to see a movie. It was a nice break for us. (2 weeks - 24/7 with a teen can be exhausting! lol)

If you are only planning to have one water park or Disney Quest day you are much better off purchasing separate tickets.

If you add the Water Parks Fun and More option to your MYW ticket it will cost $57.51 (including tax) per person, adult or child. It will add one WPF&M entry per day on the base or hopper ticket (but two entries on a one day ticket).

If you purchase one day water park tickets they cost $48.99 adult and $42.60 child. (Disney Quest are $44.73/$38.34) If you are an Annual Passholder or DVC Member you can purchase one day water park tickets at an approximate 10% discount.

This upgrade may be done at any Park (including water parks or TTC) ticket booth or Guest Relations Office. If it is on your room key it can also be done at the Resort Lobby Concierge.

(Note each person must have their own ticket. Even though it adds multiple entries to your ticket, you can only use one ticket for one person.)

Also, if you are planning to do three or more water park visits within a year there is a definite price advantage to purchase Water Park Annual Passes.

We have two unusual policies at the water parks concerning ticketing. Both involve use of a one day water park ticket.

One is we will allow full value of the used WP ticket to upgrade to a WP AP as long as it is within 14 days of use.

The other, which is the only time combining tickets is allowed, is we will merge a used WP or DQ one day ticket with a MYW ticket to add the WPF&M option and only charge the difference in price. I am certain that this also applies at DQ.

We have been five or six times over the last few years. My kids have enjoyed it and always have a good time. On our trips that are only one week, we skip it because there are just too many others things we want to spend our time doing. We usually spend a day on our longer trips. That being said, if your daughter isnt a "gamer" I dont know what the appeal would be for her and I wouldnt bother. And as much as we enjoy it, it is an enclosed, crowded and loud place. Again, if your daughter gets anxious in that type of environment, I dont know what the appeal would be. So for your description of your daughter, I think she would enjoy spending her time doing another of the multitude of activities that Disney has to offer. Good luck!!

We're definitely planning on doing Blizzard Beach at least. We have old park hoppers w/unused plusses. Might use one of those since we also had to buy tickets for this trip since we got free dining. So what I need to find out is if the weather's going to be great to do waterpark for more than one day. Right now we're opting to NOT pay for hopper so we might decide to DQ. Also I think we may have 7 days so I might get a 5 or 6 day ticket and add in the WP&M. That way if we want to do AK one day we can hit DQ that evening as well as one waterpark without using old media. We might get in at a decent hour on Monday (if we can standby on early flight) and we have a 7PM flight on Sunday which gives us a decent part of the day to hit a park or something else. Decisions, decisions.

ugh-DQ:rolleyes1 old, boring games, crowds, noise, chaos, long lines....ugh. my 2 boys who LOVE video games have gone a couple of times,b/c of bad weather, and we already had old passes with entry on them.....ugh- I've always thought while in there "I feel so bad for anyone who PAID to get in here...."
if your dd isn't a gamer and hates crowds, this isn't the place for you.. confusing layouts and nonstop noise....I dislike this place. It's Disney ,and they should do a better job- even the absolute best games in there are SO outdated....my 17 yo ds who LIVES video games can only take a couple of hours in there before he wants to leave.......

If you go I would recomend grabbing some of the foam ear plugs from the local grocery or walmart before you go. My mom, sister and myself all ended up using them because the noise is just so loud in there ... it can really start to get to you

It's definitely not a good idea to go in rainy weather. We thought it would be a great way to spend the day, but everybody else thought the same thing. I had never seen it nearly so crowded.

Usually it's a pleasant way to spend some time. We went fairly often when we had Premium Annual Passes.

We went about 4 yrs ago and all I can remember is smelly helmets on the game you sit on a motorcycle...we have not been back since. Now in saying that we got water park & more this year for the first time in 4 yrs so the kids will probably want to go as we have friends coming who have never been to Disney. The kids will be 14 & 11 so will probably be more fun for them now. We are also doing water parks which we havent done in about 4 yrs either...not my thing...I will only go in the lazy river and the wave pool, so I will be doing alot of sunbathing.....which to me I can do at the hotel, but DH and kids want to go to water park so that's what we are doing.........:rolleyes1

Skip it Carolyn,
It was ungodly noisy and depending on how crowded it is could be very claustraphobic.

We thought it was ok. have no desire to go again.

Completely agree with this post. DH and DS enjoy it. DD and I could care less. We get the wp&more for the waterparks.. so we'll go to DisneyQuest a time or two. I personally would feel the money was wasted if I just paid for DisneyQuest. Dh probably would not.

ETA) It has never been busy when we went so I didn't feel closed in.. but I am claustraphobic and would not be able to handle it if it was packed.

Now that the car rental rates have dropped again ($95 ai for week -- thinking about driving instead of magical express for freedom) we might try this "if" Libby wants to do the waterparks for more than one day. We've got old tickets but might not want to "waste" them if we will be going more often. If we have a car it will be easy to hop between the park (only one a day...not doing hoppers) and resort save the 20 or so minutes w/buses.
