Not certain if this should go under "Theme Parks"- but I'll give it a try.

We (dh, ds, and 2 other 17-year-old boys) will be at Disney the week of March 17th. We have park tickets for 3 days, figure we'll do Epcot, MK, and MGM. Also- we'll hopefully do Blizzard Beach one day. So- for the 5th park day- Disney Quest? Who has been? Is it just a huge mob inside a large building? Will 17 year-old X-box 360 addicts enjoy the attractions?

I bought "Tour Guide Mike" and intend to follow his advice for days to go to the parks, but I can't find anything on his site about what day(s) to go to/avoid Disney Quest.

We have been to Disney 2 other times before- but have never tried Disney Quest. Any advice- opinions-? Thanks in advance for your help!

Avoid rainy days. Everyone goes to DQ on rainy days. Try to go on the sunnyest day of your trip as close to opening as possible. Since there are no windows in the place, you will soon forget how nice it is outside and really enjoy being alone in the building. Have fun. My video junkies love the place.

We spent the day at DisneyQuest during Thanksgiving Week. DS (11) was in his glory, DD (8) found plenty to do, and DH & I enjoyed the opportunity to play games such as Frogger, Galaga, Centipede, and Skeetball over and over again.

There are a few virtual reality rides, but none of us really thought the technology was very good and, in fact, we all felt a little sick afterwards. Perhaps the best and most appropriate "ride" for your 17 yo's would be Cyberspace Mountain. With this ride, you design your own rollercoaster and then "ride" it in a simulator. It's fun to build it and the effects are good.

There are also many sports video games (football, baseball, soccer, tennis & bowling) and the Pirates of the Caribbean game is fun for the family.

We had a great day, but I was just a little surprised that the rides that I thought would be really cool (buzz lightyear bumper cars, mighty ducks pinball, the Comix virtual reality ride, and the jungle cruise), were disappointing.

As far as tips go...the earlier you get there, the better. DQ opened at 11:30 and we were there at 11:45. I felt like we had the place to ourselves for several hours; however, by 4:00 it became noticeably more crowded and by 7:00 it was definitely crowded (like I said, we spent the day there!).

You'll find a lot of mixed reviews about Disney Quest. Go with really high expectations and you'll be disappointed, but expect a decent day and you'll probably make out ahead.

My family thoroughly enjoys DQ. It is a must do for us each trip. We have been both at opening when it is noticeably less crowded and again in the evening and thought it was manageable. There are many things for everyone and a wide selection for the addicts. Even old ones for me and dh like skeetball and Ms. PacMan. We found even though it was a bit more crowded in the evening, we enjoyed coming out to Downtown Disney and enjoying the nighttime there as well. I have brought a book and kinda hung out at the cheesecake factory while the kids enjoyed the games/rides on each level. Sometimes, I can take only so much of the video games and I sit and relax and they come check in every hour or so. You can easily be here for 4+ hours!

Hope you guys have a great time.

My DS13 and I went last year and really had a great time. We went in the evening and spent a couple of hours there. We will definitely be returning next spring, but I can't imagine spending an entire day there. I would say 3, maybe four hours tops. Although, I guess if it is really crowded you could spend a lot of time waiting in line. Because it's in a dark building and enclosed, I guess I wouldn't want to be crammed in there if the place is crowded. Definitely find a time to go when the crowds are down. But, I think your kids will love it!! Very, very Cool!!!

I get seasick doing virtual reality (at least the versions of 2002 and before).

If you are visiting both Disney Quest and a water park, the water park fun option on a park ticket costs less than individual admissions. Walking into Disney Quest, etc. does not in itself click off a theme park day from your ticket, although going to both a water park and Disney QUest on the same day will consume two water park admissions even if you have hopping on your ticket.

but I can't find anything on his site about what day(s) to go to/avoid Disney Quest.

How about everyday? Seriously though, I would say the early the better as this appears to be a "do it after a theme park" kind of thing.
