Just wondering if Disney Quest is worth taking time out from the parks and resorts. I have two DD's - 13 & 16 who do like arcades but I don't want to spend $100.00 for our family if it's something that could be missed. We also want to do Cirque, some character dinners, etc. An 8 day trip but we were there last year so I'm sure we'll get through the parks quicker this time....

Any thoughts or advice would be so appreciated? :D

If you are getting UPH DQ is included with it. This is a must do for us on our next trip. MY 3 DS's can't get enough of video games. If the girls don't have a great passion for the games or you don't have UPH you may want to skip it.

Hi,
We were just there over the holidays for our first trip to WDW..In our package the ultimate hopper include Disney Quest so we thought we would try it.....My boys are 5 and 12 and they loved it, even my husband....It's like five floors of games, cafe, and even a couple of rides...It really is cool....The last day that we were there i asked my kids where would they like to go back to and it was Disney Quest, i had a hard time getting my boys out of there....There is just so much to do there you will spend hours just checking out every thing....I would say it's a must do, i know when we go back we will make sure we visit Disney Quest again...
If you have any other questions feel free to ask...

Thanks for the responses! We don't have UPH's - only Park Hoppers so Disney Quest is not included. However, we may have to try it based on your reviews. My DD's loved the arcade at Port Orleans last year and we shelled out a lot of quarters for that.

Is there a good time to go that's less crowded? We'll be there 8 days - from a Friday through the next Saturday. My DD's are teenagers so getting there early is not an option!

This is a must for my kids every trip. We went there three times last trip. (It was included with our tickets.) It started to get busy around 5pm and especially after the parks closed. Anytime during the day was nice. Gina

I think it is definitely worth the time and money. Even though we had the unlimited passes, this is one thing my boys now 9 and 7 list as a must do!! I must say I had a great time there as well as my husband. It is virtual reality games, interactive games, as well as the old type arcade games.

They also have a great food court which my husband went back a second time to eat at!

If time and money allow, I would definitely do it.

My family (DD5, DH, DS16 on our last trip) did not think that it was worth the $$. We went because of our video game obsessed teen age son, but even he didn't really enjoy it that much. We won't be returning on this trip.

Well, my ds and dh are both gamers and they love it. We are dropping AK for DQ this trip. You can also get cheaper tickets at TicketMania.com.

In a word - NO.

We went because we had the UPH and it was included. If we had paid extra, I would have been upset.

My kids are video game addicts and even they thought it was just ok. We did a few rides like Magic Carpets and Virtual Jungle Cruise and then left. It was the ONLY thing in our 10 day trip that was a disappointment.

Hi Again,
On our trip we went there twice, once at night and once in the morning....At night it becomes much more crowded....I think the best time to go would be when they open up in the morning, when we went in the morning there wasn't many people there so you could get to things that we didn't get to a few nights ago.....There was hardly anyone there....We stood outside with three other families and goofy was out there to greet you when the doors opened...I would go back even if it was not added to my pass...It's just so much fun....

The good news is that it doesn't usually open until 11AM...so you don't have to be a real early bird to get there at opening. We have never had a crowd problem until 5PM or so.

We are going to EE at Epcot and thought the boys; DH, DS-11 and DS-6 could head there about Noon. That way I can take DS-4 back for a nap before an evening at MK. I was thinking maybe 4 hrs or so ???

Thanks,
Cheryl

I like to try everything once. We all went as a family. We bought the tickets at Disney Quest - I think we got a small discount with our AAA card, but don't remember (or maybe we had a coupon from the TA at the time).

Anyway, I don't think it is great for kids under 6 or seven. My sons loved it, we thought it was okay. It was crowded and had to wait at time for the arcade. Now we just let the boys go alone. I purchase them at Ticketmania in advance for $21 instead of $34. HTH.

My family especially likes the Pirates of the Caribbean and the space one where you have to resue colonists. We have fun there, but there are some things the younger ones haven't been able to do.

We enjoyed disney quest...dd was 9 the first time we went and she was able to do and enjoy everything there....It's a lot of fun...even dw and myself found things that were interesting to us; they have a section that has all the vides games we grew up with but haven't seen in forever...brought back alot of memories for me and even dd thought some of our generations games were pretty cool....we spend on average about 4 hours at DQ; but, I could see people spending longer if they're really into gaming...I would suggest trying to get there earlier as opposed to later though as DQ tends to get more crowded as the day progresses; especially when the parks close or on rainy days...we go in june and like to get there right when it opens at 10am and usually have the place "virtually" to ourselves(lol) for a couple of hours!

It was our first time over Christmas. We got there at opening,
I think 10am and stayed until 6pm. DS, 8, loved it! DH and I
had a good time too; we liked the virtual reality stuff: roller coaster, jungle cruise, Alladin's carpet, Pirates cruise. DS and I
recorded a CD for souvenirs and we sent emails home from the
Cheesecake Internet Cafe. The Buzz Lightyear bumper cars
were hilarious! DS and DH teamed up against me and kept me
spinning practically the whole ride-urp! I had to jam my car up
against a wall to stop it, geesh. There were lots of things we
didn't do. We also liked the old pinball and video games arcade.
Lines were sort of long so we didn't get to do anything more than
once. We'll go back!

My son who was around 10 at the tme of our first visit loved it. We got there at opening and thought we would stay a few hours and ended up staying until closing. Our next 2 trips we had to make sure we scheduled a whole day for it because that was his main priority for going to WDW! Now he is 15 and we are going in May so we planned a whole day for although I don't think we will stay as long this time maybe get there at opeing and leave around dinner time. As adults though one trip was enough for me!

My husband and I do not have any children yet, but the admission was included in our UHP's so we tried it. Overall we were terribly bored with it.

We spent some time playing with the remote cars but other then that didnt find much to do at all. A lot of the games were out of order or didnt work very well.

The two virtual reality rides looked interesting but didnt look like they would hold two full grown adults so we didnt try. There were only kids on them when we watched.

Now, if we had kids, that may have been a different matter. Im sure the younger crowd would enjoy it, and your daughters sound like the perfect age to have fun.

We have annual passes now and will not be paying extra to do DQ again.

mission space - pah, the most sick making ride in disney is virtual jungle cruise, I felt awful for about an hour afterwards - and don't even get me started on design your own space mountain. still for my game obsessed partner it was heaven he spent 4 hours there (I lasted one and then went to the movies), if your kids are anything like as playstation obsessed as my boyfriend they'll love it - but it gave me a headache!
