Disney Quest? Worth it?

In all the years we've been to WDW, we've never gone inside Disney Quest. Now that it's closing, should we go?

My son has always wanted to go and now this year we are traveling with another family....twin 16 year old boys and their 13 year old brother. All 3 of them spend hours in front of their Xboxes.

We have admissions left on old passes that would get us into DQ, the other family would have to pay at the door.

Is it worth it? Or should we skip (again) and do something else. ie. Splitsville (which my son also LOVED.)

TIA

I went many many years ago (15?), and I really enjoyed it. I have no idea how well it's aged through. I'm going back in Jan/Feb-2016 and was a little disappointed it was going to be closed.

like it, however the admission price is steep for what it is. If you have passes, vouchers, Water Park Fun & More, etc. then it is definitely worth it. I LOVE the Pirates of the Caribbean game, which is just so much fun! Other than that though the only draw is the floor of retro arcade games which I could spend a lot of time playing.

I don't think I would pay full gate price. If you go in the evening, sometimes they offer half-price entry if the place isn't full (it never is), but you only have a few hours before closing. I'll miss the place, but I totally get why they are closing it at this point.

There is an excellent article all about this that was recently posted on Disney Tourist Blog. It pretty much summed up how I felt about Disney Quest on my last visit. Check it out!

We did it about a year ago because we had WDF&M tickets, were on a long (16 day) trip, and just happened to be in the DTD area, so we figured, why not?

We lasted in there for about 2 hours and let's just say that, even with WPF&M tickets, we all wanted those 2 hours of our lives back. We found it to be dark, dated, neglected, and completely devoid of any Disney magic (the only thing that was even remotely enjoyable was the pirate game).

That being said, we aren't gamers so, depending on how much you enjoy video games, YMMV.

I'd say it depends on how much you love games - went recently as a group of two people in their 20s and spent a good 8 hours in there. Lots of arcade games, plus Pirates of the Carribean and Astroblaster are fun!

DisneyQuest is like a giant arcade. It's something aimed primarily for pre-teen and teenagers, but not necessarily hard-core gamers. The games aren't cutting edge (for the most part). I went in once, but it was so loud inside that I left after about 30 minutes. I play video games at home, but DisneyQuest was just to loud for me to deal with. It can be dark or light depending on the floor/game area.

I think the teenagers might have some fun for a bit, but it depends on what kinds of games they normally like (you aren't going to find the latest blood and gore shooter type game) and whether they get bored easily. Overall, I think it's something that's fun, if you like games and don't mind loud sound-levels.

For your family, I'd say it's worth checking out given that you already have an admission for it as part of your Water Parks & More Fun ticket, but I'd be much more hesitant to recommend it (given the price) to the family that would have to buy the tickets.

What date is it closing? We didn't have time to go on the last trip but were hoping to this time. We are there from Jan 22-30. Will it be closed by then?

We've only gone in once since it opened. We are going in 1 last time since it's about to close and in the booklet we just got it has an offer for it.

I go there I have to wade through a billion people at DTD. That's the only reason I would not do it before it closes.
