Disney Quest Crowds??

For our trip in September, I bought tickets to Disney Quest, because my kids have always wanted to go & I have never took them.

After doing a rough plan of our trip it looks like the only time we will have time will be on a Friday night.

How crowded will it be on a Friday night in September?

Or should I try and rearrange our whole schedule & go during a weeknight?

While I'm not sure how it will be due to the fact that it's September, it will DEFINITELY be more busy than if you went during a weeknight. We've even gone during the day and while it hasn't been busy, the lines can be lenghty (i.e. Pirates - the line was not long at all, but it took a long time to get in). I would plan for a weeknight or during a day.

We're thinking of going there too...You think we would be ok if we went there after a waterpark? We wouldn't get there till, I don't know, maybe 2 or so? I'm not sure how long we'll stay at the water park...Would crowds be awful if we did that on a weekday (we'd be there in August)

Going after a 1/2 day at a waterpark is a good strategy and one that we have used. The place starts to get crowded around 4:00 or 5:00 every night and more so on the weekends. Also, it can be crowded on very rainy days when people don't want to tour the parks. DS and DH are HUGE DQ fans and visit at least 2 - 3 times per trip.

I'd say the only time Disney Quest is unusually crowded is during a rainy afternoon or evening. Otherwise, it hasn't been too bad even on Weekend nights. The biggest crowds tend to be there from dinner time until early evening, in my experience.

MamaKate: If you're going to go on a Friday night, I'd suggest arriving a little later, like around 8:30 pm, if your children can stay up late. By closing time, which is usually around 11 pm, the place is pretty empty and you can do whatever you'd like.

Aurora: As far as afternoons go, the place shouldn't be too crowded, unless it's raining of course.

Quite honestly, I haven't found Disney Quest to be super crowded anytime I've gone. I'm not sure if it's because the novelty of the place has worn off over the years or not. My feeling is that most people that go are those who have Ultimate Park Hoppers that already include Disney Quest admission. Maybe there just aren't very many people who purchase the UPH.

If there's a downpour of any extent, after about 20 minutes without signs of stopping everyone flocks to DQ. (or Innoventions if they're at Epcot.) But knowing the Orlando weather, it usually floats over after like an hour or 90 minutes. Good news is that for that hour or 90 minutes the amount of people willing to walk the parks or wait in lines outside is cut about in half. So pick up a poncho and head to the busy rides!

I'd definitely agree that the best thing to do in the rain is ride endlessly.

When my family first went to MGM back in '91, there was a tremendous downpour, and everyone left the park. My brother and I, huge Star Wars fans that we are, proceeded to ride Star Tours 6 times in a row! What a great memory.

Thanks Benjo! We weren't planning on getting there until 7 or 8 & stay until closing (which I believe is Midnight on Friday nights). It's good to hear most people clear out by 8:30 or so.

I know it may be crowded, but I think we'll tough it out and hopefully the crowds will clear out some by the time we arrive.

We too are planning on going to Disney Quest. We are planning on going May 18 which is a wed night. We will be coming to the disney area after finishing 3 days at Universal. We check into the hotel around 5PM. Since we only have a 2 day park hopper pass we will do the parks May 19,20. How busy do you think wed evening would be? Is there a site that list the hours? And it is located in Downtown Disney right?

I was curious what a Friday afternoon (not evening) would be?
Why is this place packed on the weekends/nights... is it because of locals? People saving the pluses for the end of the week? Parents dropped their kids off while they go to PI?

What are the crowds like for the week between christmas and new year, we plan to go at opening and stay until 4.00pm , have dinner, then go to cirque de soliel on the 26th of december will this be doable

Let me give you some insight on Quest

September is a great time to be thier.... if its just after school starts the building was practically dead in 2002 ... Friday night it did pick up a bit do to the locals coming in and playing....

Parents you cant leave your kids thier if thier under ten to go to PI The cast their are not Babysitters and have jobs to do(that doesnt mean it doent happen)

Mumof2--- that does sound doable if you get thier right at open and head to the big attractions or the things you really want to do....


For the not so busey times of day if you go and theirs like no one thier Heres my tips on the best way to tour the place:
when you first get their you will take the cyberlaters up to the third floor go around the corner and get on an elevator to the fifth floor (or theirs stairs all over) get a map when you get thier and go in order from the fifth floor down to the first if you get to pirates of the carribean last the exit is right near the exit of the building so if youve started at the top you would have gotten to everything... just make sure you complete every attraction before moving down to the next floor so you dont have to go back and forth.
