we've been buying Lost and Desperate Housewives from iTunes (without commercials), but we can't burn DVDs (they have some sort of blocking technology on it).

I guess this free format with commercials will be able to be burned onto a DVD.

Great news for the American market

yup....we're going to have to continue paying for the episodes on iTunes since we won't be able to download the free ones (since we don't have an american service provider).

We're able to buy from the american itunes site using our american credit card, but we won't be able to hide our foreign internet service (i don't think)...

but once they begin the trial, i'll try to see if i can go in on my office network (which is american)....although it only means saving $1.99 an episode (and those are without commercial interuption).

Aha! So that's why I can get onto some US Disney sites from work but am unable to connect to the same one's at home.
