I was just at my LSS, and the manager there told me some troubling news. She said she called All Night Media and asked about thier Disney punches. All Night Media said that they have discontinued thier Disney punches. The manager and I discussed this. Disney has pulled thier licenses from CK and now from All Night Media. Who's next? Will Sandylion be Disney's only scrapbook supply creator. Also, does Disney sudden pulling of licenses indicate that they are making a scrapbook shop in Downtown Disney? Last week, I was at Downtown Disney, and I noticed the 2Rs had been expanded, and the new section had the Capture the Magic sign in the window, and the decoration inside looked like paper with hug Disney Stickers. It hang from the ceiling. If this is true, is Disney ONLY going to sell scrapbook supplies at Disney World? It is something to ponder! I just wanted to know what everyone's feedback on this was. Also, if you want any of All Night Media's Disney punches, buy them now! They might not be around too much longer!

I can see that Disney would pull there lisences so that they could have total control in this area, Could they have figured out that scrapbooking is big business!!! If this is the case I can't see them only selling SB supplies at WDW, they are a company and companies want to make money so I think they wouldn't limit themselves. I mean you can buy winnie the pooh pretty much anywhere right! If they are going to do a full line of supplies I hope they get in gear-my trip is soon!

I heard that hot off the press won't be using Disney either. Good thing I have all the punches and even the new swirl one.

Gee, what is going on?

Interesting thoughts.....and they just got into a deal with Creative Memories.

Wiggle, I was going to say the same thing.
They may be pulling their licenses from other places, but they recently came out with the new Mickey & Friends combination pack from Creative Memories. I haven't heard of anything new on the horizon from CM, but I sure hope there will be! I thought the combo pack was great. I did a lot of pages of our WDW trip and still have some stuff left from the pack to use.
I guess its good for those of us who like CM but maybe not so great for those others who don't :(

Who makes their "Capture the Magic" sets that are available at WDW now?

I know I'm going to kick myself when I see the answer, but I'm new and I'm wondering . . . what in the heck is lss? And, is there anywhere online I could buy the Disney punches you're talking about?

Thanks!

Inky

Inky, "LSS" stands for Local Scrapbook Store. To answer your question regarding punches, I think Mousememories.com carries them. I'm sure there are other places online, but I don't know them. Anyone else?

You can buy the punches from All Night Media's website.

http://www.plaidonline.com

They also have Disney stamps, if anyone is into stamping, but a lot of those are discontinued too. I bought a bunch on clearance about a month ago. There are several of the Pooh punches on clearance right now.

See? I just knew I'd feel silly. Local scrapbook store. I shoulda known! I guess you gotta start somewhere, and goodness knows, I'm starting at the very beginning. You guys are an inspiration. Did you know that? I've wanted to get into scrapbooking for years, and now, I'm finally going to get started.

I went to Plaid online and ordered several of the punches, and I have Mouse Memories open in another window. Boy, they have some nice things, don't they? Thanks for sharing their addresses with me. And, thanks for answering a beginner's questions. I'm sure I'll have more as I go along.

From what I heard CM had waited quite a long time (years) to get the licensing for their Disney combo pack. Disney only licenses to so many companies at a time. Perhaps they're pulling some company's licenses and giving them to other new companies who are developing new products. The idea being to keep customers coming back for something new and fresh. I don't know. Just something else to ponder. I doubt very seriously they'd pull all the licenses and sell only at Disney. Like a previous poster said, they'd be shooting themselves in the foot revenue-wise.

It's not just in the scrapbook arena that Disney is pulling licensing. Have you noticed all the clothing in stores like Target and JCPenney with Disney characters? If you look at the tags, they are all by Disney. My guess is Disney wants their name on the product, not the manufacturer's. Maybe some of these other companies didn't want to do that, so Disney took their business elsewhere.

The new Disney scrapbook items at WDW don't say who they are made by, (only says "Capture the Magic") but based on packaging, and the fact they are made in Canada, I'm guessing they are made by Sandylion.

Also, look for more Disney combo packs from CM. Pooh's coming this fall.

New here but thank you for the link on plaidonline.com.

Although I'm not an official scrapbooker just yet. I do plan on being one soon.

I've order four Disney punches last week and it got here today.

They are the cutest: Two Pooh's, one Tiger and one Mickey.
Thanks for the link!

I heard from another CMC that they are coming out with something POOH wise later this year as well.

The CM Pooh pack: It's going to be a combo pack similar to the Mickey combo pack they now sell.
