Disney private transportation survey

I just received an email from Disney asking to complete a survey about Disney offered private transportation. My wife and I have been very vocal on previous surveys that we haven't used Disney transportation in years. Instead we switched to private car service or taxis and over the past three trips Uber. If Disney could make a service that is easy to use and offered nice and clean vehicles at a competitive price point to Uber we would sign up in a heart beat. For as little as $6 each way you can get to most destinations at Disney without waiting on an overcrowded bus or waiting in the heat for a monorail to show up.

I grabbed some screen shots of the survey options that Disney provided and included here for discussion. I know that there have been some podcast discussions on previous shows but maybe this is something that can be revisited.

Mixed feelings about offering a service like this on Disney property. They will obviously need to cut back on something and raise prices again to pay for the fleet of cars, drivers, equipment and other staff to run the service.

I have done cabs a few times, and found it very convenient, fast, and not that expensive. So yes - it would be nice to have an option. But - as @Gorechick said - that would also most probably mean cuts elsewhere to "pay" for it. It also allows them to be "lazy" and not even TRY to do ANY sort of resort-to-resort transpo (which has been a huge flaw since it was built!), and I also currently think of my "getting there" time as part of the planning/experience, whatever, and am used to it - just like I do not driving/taking public tans all over/to work/etc at home. It can even be pleasurable (such as in a pretty bot ride @ WDW, or sightseeing on the monorail), and gives me time/head space to wind up/down if needed. UNLESS I want to pay - do I REALLY?:confused3 I've also frankly been amazed that Magical Express has stayed "free" (as an independent price, not built into room rate rises) as long as it has, and wonder how long it will do so. I know the whole "trap you in their bubble and make you stay on property" theory, but I also know the "squeeze your gizzard for every nickel and dime" theory too.

But thank you @RebelHawk for sharing this with us!

This seems like it would be a paid service as opposed to Magical Express, which is "free".

Additionally, I wonder if Disney would actually be operating the fleet. Mears, not Disney, actually runs the fleet of buses and drivers of the Magical express. It may be a similar situation where Disney will offer the service, for a fee, but not actually have the concern of owning and operating a fleet of cars/vans.

It's obviously just Disney trying to cash in on the UBER and Lyft craze.
I'm comfortable using uber, I'm not sure I need Disney to offer this
