I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post this here but my little one at the age of two already has a small collection of umbrellas and today whilst out I got her a new addition ... a gorgeous, pink disney princess umbrella for £1.99 !!! It was in a shop called Home Bargains and I only popped in because I saw they had my kitchen towels in the window which I usually pay a fortune for in Sainsburys for £1, anyhow I became side tracked by the childrens umbrellas ... they had two different Disney princess ones, Tinkerbell, Disney Fairies, Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, Cars, etc and all were only £1.99 ! I have seen these umbrellas selling for £6.99 in other shops and couldn't believe how cheap they were  Makes me wish they did them in big girl sizes but I still have my Mickey umbrella with the ears on either side :)

Our pound shop often has them - for a pound :rotfl2:. DD got a really pretty Ariel one, its still going strong.

I was amazed when I saw them, nearly got a few just for pressies for little friends but I managed to stick at just the two although I'm wishing I'd bought a tinkerbell one ! Think I may need to take another shopping trip, especially if all this rain continues

I love home bargains, our home bargains has cute winnie the pooh character plush first soft toys, they often have lots of disney stuff and other stuff there at rock bottom prices. I often buy stuff on there and resell on ebay, often making over a 100 percent profit.

I saw in their puppy in my pocket bags for £1.99. then went into woolworths and they were selling the same thing for £9.99.

that is quite some profit !!! I've just taken a look on ebay and sure enough the umbrella's I bought today are selling for just over £7 including p&p !

I'm going to go back and try to get a few more, I think they would make sweet little presents for dd's little friends :)

Please don't take an umbrella into the parks in DLRP - it will only end up poking people as you walk about.

Ponchos with hoods/waterproof coats are the way to go :thumbsup2 .

Agreed - some of the paths in the park get very busy (especially down main street), so there isn't really the space for an umbrella. If you can get away with a waterproof coat, then I'd recommend that instead as it makes life easier for everybody, although I don't believe there are rules against umbrellas if you really don't want to use waterproofs.

The park caters fairly well for rainy days anyway, so there's a good chance if you take an umbrella, you'll be forever putting it up, taking it down, putting it up, taking it down etc...
