I am pulling my hair out. My DD9 has decided to the Cindi Plastic Canvas Mirror from the Disney Home book, No problem I thought   I could just scream now. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong. I am not a plastic canvas person. It appears that I have to count every square in the pattern and hand write a pattern with dimensions to than cut it. i did buy the 7 count plastic like it says, but it just doesn't line up. I am half way through cutting the outer part of the frame after almost 40 minutes. At this rate it will be 2 hours just to cut the frame and than I need to start on Cindi. I must be doing something wrong!

Any tips would be appreciated.
TIA
Sandy

It's been a long time since I've done plastic canvas, but let me see if I can help. Instead of making a pattern, I would just count over 4, up 3, over 1, up 5, etc. cutting as I go. Does that make sense?

I actually do all the stitching 1st but the overcast on the edges & then cut the project out. I TOO spent a LONG time cutting out a piece and then was off by 1 square.

Plastic canvas is pretty inexpensive & you could just get a new piece & start over.:scared1:

I am currently working on a Manger Scene w/ Mary, Joseph, Jesus, a lamb and a donkey. It WILL be finished before Christmas this year.

I finished the manger scene for Christmas 2005.

I haven't started anything lately but hope to find a neat pattern for Christmas next year. I will be checking the Mary Maxim catalog & web site for sales after Christmas.
