disney princess dress and biracial child please read

:sad2: Ok, so on the off chance that this is real question and not just somebody trying to cause a ruckus I'm going to weigh in and give my opinion.

I'm a black mom of two black daughters. My 5 year old was Ariel for Halloween one year. She wore the red wig and everything. She gots TONS of complements. When we go to disney in november ill probably let her dress up as a princess one day. Whatever princess that she wants. It's really not that big of a deal. It's just pretend and nobody will even think twice about it.

If I were you, I'd let her be whatever princess she wanted and I'd shut my mouth about having her pick the princess that's black just because she's black. That's soooo lame. Let your little girl be a little girl.

And if there are some other people in her life that make comments, you need to be her support and tell her that's its those people with the problem not her.

Title: "mom of 3 here first time to disney world"

Hello im very new to all of this I am planning on goingo to disney world at christmas I have a 4 year old boy a 6 year old daughter and a 12 month old at the time we go my baby was born near christmas day so this is really going to be her first christmas and her first birthday any recomendations am I wrong to go now why she is so young

You made another one since 2/13?

I saw every princess with every skin color you can think of. All little girls are princesses and deserve to dress as any princess they choose. Nobody will think anything about it. I can't believe a mother of a bi-racial child could be so insensitive...

I have a 8 year old son who only comes for the summer so I have 3 at home and my youngest is 4 months old I have 2 boys 2 girls

8 5 3 and 4 months old

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it. Let her do what she wants. I have a three year old son who dresses up as Disney princesses sometimes:)

I am kind of surprised by this question. I wouldn't tell my child your hair color is dark blonde so you can't be ariel or mulan or whatever. It also shouldn't matter what anyone thinks. I tell my girls they can be any princess they imagine themselves to be. I would let your daughter pick any dress that makes her feel special and magical.

Your daughter will look wonderful wearing any of the princess outfits. Yours posts would benefit by wearing some punctuation.

Um 12 months in December would be 4 months now. The 5 year old could have just turned 5 or be 4 and turning 5 shortly.

You really may want to reconsider posting personal information on a public message board.

my oldest girl wanted a Tiana dress. Her grandmother made her one that is just flat out stunning. She looks so pretty in it and it doesn't make a bit of a difference that she is white. She was happy and that is what counts most.

If somebody has a problem with it then it is their problem alone.

My son is of mixed decent and I don't think I have ever looked at him and decided he shouldn't be something because of it. He doesn't identify as not being fully Caucasian, and didn't even realize it until he was 13. It was th funniest conversation I have ever had with him because he didn't believe me. I asked how he couldn't realize it because his grandparents don't even speak English.

I'm glad I've raised a color blind kiddo. I think you're more hung up n it than your daughter. Let the kid be whatever she feels like, and let her enjoy her fantasy.

Both of my DDs wear everyone's dresses. They love all the princesses. I don't limit them to just Tiana just because we are African American. I say let her wear whatever dress she wants. As far as her hair goes, any hair style with a princess dress is fine. A nice big puff ball on top with a crown, pony tails with hair bows, we've done it all. :) I catch their dresses on sell from Walmart too. :thumbsup2

Your kids are adorable. I think your daughter will look nice in whichever costume she chooses.

Without reading replies this si my take - I have a dark skinned, dark haired, brown eyed DD who is cinderella all the time. I have a golden haired, green eyed pale beauty who loves to be Tiana (b/c she "has the most beautiful skin mommy"), and a blond haired, blue eyed baby who is snow white.

Are there people who see my children and think they should be a different princess? probably. Do I care? kind of.

If left to themselves about it, children don't see skin colour. I want my children to remain in that state as long as possible. Though my oldest (6) is noticing. She notices that most ppl in shows are white. She notices that most are male.

I say let your DD be who she wants, break the barriers that shouldn't be there in the first place.
