DH and I are regular runners. I should be able to run a half and DH nearly able to run a full when we go this year. This is our first trip to DW since we've started running, though. Before we would have prepped by walking prior. Do other runners still do this type of prep? Obviously we will be able to travel the distances required to tour the parks, but we are used to going those distances at a much faster pace. We aren't used to being on our feet for 8+ hours a day. Do you find you still need to do some walking for significant periods of time pre-trips?

I don't want us to go all arrogant because we're in the best shape of our lives (at nearly 40 and 40+ :) ) and wind up barely able to walk on our sore feet after the first day.

I run. I still will do daily walking starting 6 weeks before a trip to WDW. I will tack the walk on to the end of a run. Since I sit all day at work I feel it is important to be on my feet more to get them ready for 12 hour days

We also have desk jobs which is what got me thinking about this. We'll start walking at the beginning of August in addition to our runs. We don't run together (he gets mornings, and I get nights), but we can walk together after we get off work. It wouldn't hurt to bring our 2 year old with us to get him acclimated to the heat and walking distances (we'll still bring our stroller).

Thanks for the input!
