I'm so excited! We just pre-ordered the new series of Disney stamps for our invites. :cool1: They will officially be released on 8/7/08 by the US Postal Service. We were told they will sell out quickly.

We used them for our wedding invitations but our invites were so heavy we had to add a $1.00 stamp to it also. It looked ok with the two stamps. I'll have to chedk out the new ones when they come out.

Maybe we should buy them now for our thank you cards.

Linda

I just checked out your ticker and you are getting married three days after we are. We are November 10 in Epcot and then our reception in ADH and desert party later that night in UK. Where are all your events taking place? It's great to find another bride near our wedding date.

We mailed out our invites the first week of July and put a August 18th RSVP date. I know it was early to send the invites but I figured everyone has known since January and if they don't know by now if they are coming, they will never know. The RSVP's have been slow in getting back to us. We have 2 weeks to go and we have gotten less then 1/2. We mailed out 60 invites for 111 people.

Ohhh I'm going to have to pick the new set up...I collect them. Thank you for posting this. You reminded me that they were coming out lol.

Not only are we only 3 days from each other, but we seem to be having almost the same wedding!!! :rotfl: How cool?!? We are having our ceremony in Epcot with a brunch following in Italy, then a dessert party at lower UK at night!! I'll definitely be thinking of you on the 10th and wishing you a beautiful day!

We just got word our invites will be here on Monday so, we were lucky the stamps are coming out on Thursday! I actually feel like we were late in getting them out, but thought the same thing you did. Everyone already knows about the wedding through the save-the-dates. We put our RSVP deadline as Oct. 1 since our count is due on the 13th. We have a small group, about 30 people, all close friends and family. If they delay sending in their response I figure we can just call them. I still wish we sent them earlier though. Good job on getting yours out when you did. Sounds like everyone needs lots of time to reply.

Good luck with the remainder of your wedding plans!! Keep me posted and I'll do the same! :goodvibes

I went to get these today and was told they are only "released" on the release date in certain cities and all the other post offices will have them tomorrow. :confused3 So, I'll have to make another trip tomorrow.

Cam that happened to me too! I waited on line for 15 minutes and when the I asked guy about them, he looked at me like I was crazy :headache:

 Sorry about that! I didn't realize this was the case because we ordered ours through the mail. Good luck getting them!

YAY! I got mine this morning! They are absolutely adorable -- the colors are gorgeous! I am using these for our dessert party invitations and our rehearsal dinner invitations. For the vow renewal invitations and the response cards, we are using the wedding stamp that is the filigree heart on a sage green background. Very pretty!

Don't be sorry! Its not your fault - if it wasn't for you I never would've even known they were coming out with new stamps ;)

Oilystars - yes, I believe they are.

I think I'll wait until next year to buy some disney stamps since the price will probably go up... again.... :)

Actually, they are Art of Disney Imagination

That is what happened to me. I have the 41 cent Disney stamps that I bought in February. I couldn't believe the price went up on the day we became able to sign a contract for our venues. :sad2: I ended up using the 41 cent stamps with a 1 cent tiffany lamp stamp on our newsletters that went out August 1. I'll continue to use those for personal correspondence and bills, but I really wanted the 42 cent ones for invitations. The funny thing is -- I'll have to add more postage to the rehearsal dinner invitation envelope anyway (the invitations are very embellished and oversized). The dessert party invitation will be fine with 42 cents, though. I wish they had Disney stamps in the postcard denomination. I had to buy postcard stamps for the postcards we are putting in our welcome bags.

BTW, the stamps are so perfect. Many of our guests LOVE Steamboat Willie and the Mowgli/Baloou image is the one we used on our "Bear Necessities" bags. The dalmation one will be cute for our friend who is a firefighter and the Aurora one is just gorgeous! :cloud9:
