We are 12 years into our DVC journey. Our home resorts have been GFV and Riveria and we recently added at the poly with the new tower. We always purchased direct at opening. Just our thing.

This was our first visit to the new tower.

1- Simply - very nice. I know the outside gets some grief but the tower itself is very nicely finished and never felt “cheap” in any way to us. The fact they invested space in multiple outside terraces showed they did not just “pack in the rooms” in every inch to max profit. The common areas are great. The theming is more subtle but always present. For us, a great balance between theming and higher end resort finishes. The main building feels dated in comparison in many ways. Charming as it is. The tower is a different level of finish (which might be great or neutral for you). However, it is @Not@ a holiday inn for those more jaded with their comments :-). It is a very nice resort.

2- We liked the lobby food service. Several interesting food options. Very nice venue. It is worth having one meal there.

3- we stayed in a dedicated 2 bedroom with 6 adults. The extra full bath is great. The room was great. The view (we had a theme park view) was outstanding. It is one of the best executed DVC rooms IMO. The bathroom can be tight in some places but never caused a real issue. Storage galore if you love to pack everything.

4- we had one night in the penthouse 2 bedroom with preferred view. Frankly, this has to be the worst point value in the tower. You actually lose a pull down single bed (sleeps 8 vs 9) and get a view of the parking lot. All the bedrooms and bathrooms are identical to the regular 2 bedroom. You pick up a larger family room with a huge table - but you pay a large point premium for things we personally did not see much value in having. The regular 2 bedroom is a much better value for us. The theme park view would at least give you a good view. The preferred view is just - well - not great. If you can get a 2 bedroom with any view - we would take it over the preferred view penthouse. We just could not see much value in this room vs pt cost.

Overall, this is a solid addition to the DVC family (we have stayed in all of them). The addition of 1 bedrooms, 2 bedrooms, etc, puts the poly back into the rotation for us. The extra bathroom in the 2 bedroom makes it a stand out at this location.

We still prefer the riviera for two main reasons:

- we love the gondolas and getting access to the rear entrance of Epcot and easy transport to Hollywood studios (our two favorite parks).

- we like the full service coffee setup in the lobby at the riveria. They have a limited coffee option at the bar in the tower but you need to go to the main building to get a full set of options.

However - these are very small personal preferences. The new poly tower should appeal to a lot of DVC families - both new and seasoned. The extra bathroom would quickly make this the preferred choice with 6 adults.

A lot of families love the Poly. However, you don’t even need to love the poly to appreciate the nice setup the tower offers DVC familes. If you also love the poly - well - this should be awesome for you.

Thanks for this Post!
On Oct 1, I toured the new Poly room over at SSR - mostly to see if they had any good swag to giveaway since it was the first day of sales…With 1400+ points (5 UYs, 7 home resorts and 21 contracts), I did NOT need any more points - but dang - the rooms were so nice I signed a contract for 154 points. So now I have 1500+ points, 8 home resorts and 22 contracts - but still only 5 UYs😀

It’s pretty easy - April UY is for May trip, June UY is for Fall and Oct UY is for Dec trip…other 2 UYs are Hilton Head points only and used exclusively for trips there.
