Disney Planning Robot Dinosaur at Theme Park

Im glad too see that disney is willing to try something new, even if it doesnt work as well as we would want it to its nice to see them try something that isnt in any other park. But as AV pointed out it is sad that saving money is much more important under eisners regime than the guest expereince and he has no middle ground on the issue!!!

Question, isn't it a hopeful possibility that things will change at the end of 2003, when Ei$ner steps aside?

I can hope; I would love to see the expression in DW's face when a Dinosaur grabs my hat.....;)

Stan Winston AA figures running in any theme pak anywhere?
No because he is in the movie business not the theme park business.
I thought Phil Tippet was mostly a stop motion and CG guy.
He created a device (D.I.D.), Dinosaur Input Device; that looks like the steel armature of a dinosaur and it could be moved by one person and the full-size dinos would mimic the movement done by the performer/puppeteer/animator. Picture a dino made from an erector set, hooked to a computer.

I wonder if Honda's work on their ASIMO robot played any inspiration in trying to get this walking AA figure out into the parks?

There's been a giant, multicolored, metallic robot-dinosaur looking thing out at central shops behind MK for about 2 years now. about a year ago, they built a giant white tent around it (or in it's place.... I can't tell if it's still there or not, but the tent is.)
